![]() My wife has a brand new ACER Vista laptop, AMD64x2 (Dual Core) with NVidia 7000 graphics &2GB ram, and the mouse has a weird glitch. It starts clicking on its own when she hovers over things in EQ2. It doesn't happen with any other application. I went into the settings in vista and enabled/saved/disabled/saved on the 'Mouse Assistance' page to ensure that Vista wasn't causing the problem with the 'click when I hover over an icon' setting. She'll hover over her icons on the hotbar and get the "You do not have a target" message on screen. Then in fights she'll lose target a lot as the mouse clicks in space, etc. It's quite annoying and frustrating as I can't find a fix. We've tried replacing the mouse (Microsoft Optical 3000) and it made no difference. I've searched here, Microsoft's site and on Google. We've patched up to the latest drivers for her system and installed Vista SP1 with every patch thereafter - nothing helps. It doesn't happen all the time either - she went three days with no problems, then today it started up again (after we got a little patch, in case that's related) Any ideas at all, please? |

Just a thought but perhaps she is touching the touchpad on the laptop when playing? The touchpad will still be active by default even with a mouse connected. Most touchpads have a "feature" that if you tap it it will act like a click. Not sure if this is what is happening but just throwing it out there.

No - we turned off the 'tapping' feature on the touchpad, since there was no option to turn the touchpad off completely like on my Toshiba. Even with her hands in the air it was still clicking icons, with 3 different microsoft mice attached at different times. |

![]() Used the Vista management app to tell it not to load the touchpad programs and she still seems to be having issues (tip I found on another game forum - seemed worth trying) Anyone else experience this Vista mouse issue and tried something that worked, please? It's driving her nuts |
