I have read that choosing race does not matter much but is there certain racial abilities that a certain class would benefit from? I am interested in either playing a SK or a Ranger/Assassin.

I have read something about locking your experience, is there a post that explains what this actually does. I love to explore a lot and I love to quest. Is there an advantage in strengthening my character this way?

I do not have any high level characters, is there any advantage to buying RoK? I have EoF already.

Hopefully these are not repetative Qs. :0)

Race only matters in the very low levels.  My SK is an Ogre.

You can lock your combat experience.  You will still earn xp from completing quests (and maybe discovery).

The zones in RoK are much easier on the 1-20 levelling.  I've not run through them.  I hear some of the loot is better than you  find in 'Old World' zones.  I'd get it.

Welcome and GL,

SC

Locking Combat Experience means that you will only get XP from quests and discoveries.  This somewhat slows down leveling, but with more quests being completed before they turn gray, this allows you to gain more AA points.

I would recommend getting ROK.  It includes all the expansions and adventure packs, and basically turns on all the different expansion-specific content (AAs starting at level 10 with EOF, etc.)  Granted, you might not use the ROK specific zones (except Timorous Deep) until you get to around 65-70, but when you get to that point, you won't have to worry about getting it. Plus, you get access to the Bloodline Chronicles, Splitpaw Saga, and Fallen Dynasty, which are all accessible prior to ROK, with Splitpaw being a good place to go from level 20 to around 60 (it scales with your level.)

If you create your SK or Assassin, you may be able to start in Timorous Deep. TD has a lot of low level content from lvl1-20, plus if your into farming, you can get some nice armor and not have to worry too much about your rares til your mid 20's-lvl 30.  I would reccomend getting it.
