Massively's Kyle Horner explores the possibilities of the artistic direction behind a theoretical EverQuest III. And he has determined that the best route to go would be to dive head long into the unmined riches of a Steampunk theme. Yes! this is the kind of thing I would love to see, a Magical/Industrial hybrid. If Sony doesn't want to do that with Norrath, then I would hope they would consider making a new game in that Genre. I've been disappointed that in the expanding MMO market, I haven't been seeing anything like that.

lolI guess that's supposed to be innovative, and maybe it will appeal to some people. Maybe even a lot of people, what do I know? But personally, I would avoid a game like that. I don't like robots/industrialism in a fantasy game, and I think something like that would kinda ruin the whole "Norrath"-thing. I'm also pretty sure there will still be a market for pure fantasy themed games in the future, simply because a lot of people like them. I can only speak for myself, of course - but if I wanted robots and laser guns, I would choose a sci-fi type of game to begin with. And if they actually decide to make that game, isn't it possible they might choose to go back in time as well as forward....?
