Whilest on a quest for the mighty Ayonic Axe, the legion of troubadors were asked to find your spirit bound to Kunark. Unfortunately, the tales of your travels within Kunark are all but unknown to those following in your search for this mighty artifact. Could you please shower us with songs or tales of your adventures there in an effort to identify the epic event which bound you to our world in Kunark.Humbily yours,Acappella and a legion of eager followers

![]() If this has anything to do with the troubador epic, I'm sorry to say you probably won't be getting a dev response for a hint. I think they have a strict policy on making sure the players have to do all the work themselves. (asking for a dev response in the topic title is a big no-no anyway) |

Actually, I'm more looking for whatever Lore tidbits exist regarding Vhalen's trips to Kunark. I know he died in Trakanon's Lair in Lower Seb (eq1), but thats about all I have found. I've seen most of the Lore regarding his lost love and the battles at the gates of Qeynos, but virtually nothing regarding anything more in Kunark. Yes, its to glean information from my epic, but asking about Lore in a lore section hardly seems inappropriate. I'm not asking "where is X in EQ2".Certainly Vhalen is the resident lore expert, but if other people have any idea about the Lore, I'd be more than grateful. Some of the lines in old threads no longer work.

Yet still the game wants us roaming the lands of Kunark in search of his remaining spirit...

He came, he saw, he banged his head to some serious thrash metal and then went home and had a combo meal with a large fries and Dr. Pepper. Oh, he also mourned the loss of his one true love... and his black concert T-shirt she never returned. There are all kinds of instances of shards of spirits being in different locations. Vhalen's spirit shows up in the Bell Tower but then returns to Ethernere after he finishes that incredibly long poem about the Knights in the Round. He could be summoned again somewhere else maybe? The only place I can think of him showing up would be near Teren's Grasp where the skellie for the Bard Epic used to be... oh yeah, and Trak's lair was also the last step for the EQ1 Bard Epic, yes? Plenty of Bards bit the dust in that tunnel.

![]() My greatest adventures on Norrath are often marked by a spirit type known as a shade. These shades are special, not like most encountered. There is a powerful spell that I carry in my arsenal that will eradicate most opposing armies. However, this mighty composition is not played without a price. With every use, a facet of my being is bound to the stage from which it is played. There are only so many portions of my life to give up until I am forever bound to a place far beyond Ethernere. It is best if the bells chime only in extreme cases and seemingly hopeless situations. Of course, that is a bit in character. Vhalen Nostrolo, the bard, has been involved in numerous odysseys that have not been told. The Broken Bell of Ethernere, the Song of Ro, the Riddle of Kelkarn, the Pied Piper of Torsis and many more. A few of the shades you encounter during the troubadour epic are directly related to some of those tales. The vision that you speak to is another thing altogether. Visions are projections of an entity. In the case of Vhalen, he projects an image of himself on Norrath to speak with adventurers. All the while, his true self is far beyond this world, in the midst of a grand final odyssey. The visions are best projected towards locations that hold importance in his life. These places may also hold shades of his life force.

Or maybe it was a lymric I read in a gas station men's room. Either way, it was good |

My mistake, the construct we talk to in the belltower is indeed "A Vision of Vhalen" and not a shard of his spirit, nor a "shade". I'll have to keep in mind the distinction in the future
