Hi there, I recently came back to the game, along with my wife who plays a shadowknight. I currently play an inquisitor and have a little swashbuckler on the side. But I've also considered now leveling up a bard. My question is this. In tier 7 and 8, for grouping and duoing, which of the classes (Inquisitor, Swashy, Dirge, Troubador) would be better partnered with the shadowknight? I really enjoy fast paced gameplay, which is why I'm considering the bard or the swashy over the Inquisitor in the first place, but I'm unsure of the Shadowknight's strengths in regard to different classes. Also, if I were to play a bard, which between the Troubador and the Dirge would pair with the Shadowknight best? Thanks!

My partner and I play an SK + Inq duo (all the way to 80). It has worked well and I would say for Kunark you *might* need the healing. While some mobs are fine there are many that hit like trucks so either you have to kill them fast or have some healing available (over and above what the SK can do herself of course).

I'd choose the Inquis. Inquis deal some heavy dammage as well if specc'd for it, and have some nice buffs/debuffs.....so don't expect to be slowed too much by going with the healer.

Unlike in previous expansions, RoK is not exactly duo friendly.

Essentially, it's been designed to be soloable to 80 through easy solo questlines in each zone. If you roll off the boat at 70.0 and do almost every quest you'll finish the last questline at 80.

There are only a handful of heroic quests along the way. With few exceptions these fall into two categories, those which are soloable by most classes, and those which require an actual group.

There aren't really any overland heroic mobs to speak of, there is no grinding.

The instances/dungeons are probably all too difficult for a duo, with the possible exception of Karnor's once it's greened out.

To sum up, you might want to duo all the quests together as it will save time and might even cut the tedium, but it's definitely not necessary so use whatever class you enjoy playing more.

I have a SK and I can box a troub, inquis or fury to pair up. They all work well and each has their strengths; so the answer would be "play what you enjoy".  Any of the classes you mention certainly help "get mobs dead" faster, but much of the RoK content outside dungeons is designed for the soloer anyway.

At level 63 I was soloing the level 68/69 mobs for quests and exp in Kylong.  I added a 61 ranger friend, and the mobs died pretty quickly - basically the mobs (other than the enchanter ones) were dying quick enough that it wasn't a problem killing them with very little downtime.

I'd have to say that anything you add to the group would make things go quicker.  Like the above post stated, play what you enjoy.  I've been playing mmorpg's long enough to realize that if you hate what you play, you'll get burned out pretty quickly.
