Don't worry, no AA stuff here. I've done my homework and am pretty satisfied with my AA choices.Anywho, I'm just wondering of there's a point where inq's become particularly good/bad/fast/slow at soloing. I know that on my brig, through the 40s, then after the 50s my overall dps really picked up quick, which sped up my soloing a lot. I'm just wondering if there's a similar "break point" for inquisitors. I'm also having a tough time deciding if I want an inq as my healer alt, or a fury (or even a warden). I've heard some other inqusisitors grumble about "taking forever to kill a mob" and whatnot. Just wanted to know if that ends up being true at some later point, ot these were likely just whiners who didn't spec well for soloing.Thanks.

I don't think anyone could reasonably be grumbling about that anymore. When specced and equipped right inquisitors kill plenty fast enough (and this comes from somebody whose previous main was a swash) and they can do it much safer than most. As far as solo progression goes, you may feel a bit pedestrian until you get battle cleric/and or crits in stamina line maxed. However, once you get those you will be dropping stuff nicely and efficiently. Once you get retaliation as a means of pulling in the 20s also improves things nicely. For soloing, the final ability in the strength line, steadfast (passive ability that essentially makes non-interruptible when stationary) makes everything much easier and soloing quicker and safer. Also the double attack in the agility line improves dps significantly. Since battle clerics are generally strength based primarily and get nice dps/haste/da boosts with yaulp and buffs, autoattack dps is a huge part of dps so the increased double attack makes a noticeable difference. So its not really about what lvl do things get better in terms of solo its much more about at what AA pt investment. So if you're willing to grind the AA at least at lower lvls you should probably build up the 40+ or so to get close to maxing battle cleric line/CAs and max crit, you will be doing just fine solo. After that it only gets better if you spend your AA pts wisely and equip yourself nicely. |
