How are Necros end game??

I just started a new Necro last night. Got to about 20th in TD (man the xp and aa flows there)...

Enjoy the class and can see me playing him to end game. My main is a brigand and while I enjoy him, the class just does not click for me. I enjoy the caster more.

What role(s) does the Necro have end game? In other MMO's the DOT type casters are normally good at solo;ing but not wanted in groups due to the speed that mobs die and wasted DPS

I am sure how the necro is now, won't be that similar at end game, so wondering what role they play and if they are wanted in groups/raids down the line..

I've been playing a high level necro for the last few months (betrayed from conj). I have no trouble finding groups or partners, and almost always have a spot in a raid. We bring some decent utility...rez, FD, mana hearts, and some great DPS. I parse pretty well in guild and pickup raids, and sometimes get called on for pet pulls.

Necro's are great in the end game. You can solo easily and you bring a variety of powerful dps and decent utility spells to the group or raid. Only non-bard scout classes can rival a necro's dmg output in longer fights. With our pet's abilities to absorb incoming dmg we are probably the most survivable of the mage classes.

My 76 Necro routinely kills level 80^ and above. I'd no problem mowing down all kinds of yellows and oranges. Necro is one of the best solo chars I've played.
