The Symbol in the Flesh Heritage Quest bug?

I had the heritage quest "The Symbol in the Flesh" in my quest journal for quite some time and finally decided to finish it up today. The part I am on is where I need to "create a weapon suitable for slaying a Ghoul Lord"

From the various sites I have checked for help with this part it seems I need to talk to "Havras "Hack" Scutter" as I have never done the Ghoulbane heritage quest. Problem is when I speak to him he only tries to give me the quest for the Blackwater Mask.

Is there something I am missing to continue the Symbol in the Flesh quest or is this perhaps bugged at the moment?

You have to do the Ghoulbane HQ first.

No you don't.Take the mask quest and then see if he still has a feather for you. It's the only way to check if he has the quest you need. Sometimes, one quest is more predominant and you have to "clear" it (by accepting it) in order to get the secondary quest offered.

Indeed. If you take The Blackwater Mask quest, you should then be able to open up a dialogue with him, where he sends you to meet someone in Nektulos Forest. I forget the NPC's name, but he's in one of the Thexian camps right near the entrance to Darklight Wood.

The quest given is "Gogas Afadin" and that is the name of the NPC in Nek Forest. Not that'll help much as all of us who got this quest can't get Gogas to say word one!

Same for me i also have the mask quest still no advance sent a bug and petition awhile ago the GM said it is a bug nothin i have done delete mask and such have worked also tried to delete the HQ and redo but no go for me ???

I have the same problem - Hack Scutter won't give me the next part of the quest. I /petitioned and a GM came and told me the quest is bugged. SOE knows about it. It hasn't been fixed yet. The nice GM gave me the update for "Hack" Scutter but forgot to open up the Gogas Afadin quest for me. Now I have to petition again or wait for a fix.

No, same problem here.

Actually got "Hack" to give me the Gogas Afadin part before I got to the part requiring him on the main Heritage Quest.

Evil toon, hadn't done Ghoulbane. Went into Nek, Gogas won't say diddly, no quest update. Sooo...

Deleted the Gogas quest and went back to Somborn to see if I could clear the bug. Now I can't even get the quest from "Hack". Already have the Blackwater Mask, too. He just stands there and asks if I got the Mask yet.

/em smacks "Hack" upside his big fat head.

So, I'm doing Ghoulbane (at 73) to see if that advances things any.

While trying to clear quests from my logbook, I finished Gogas Afadin and Symbol in the Flesh. However, since I didn't already have my Ghoulbane, I did not get the upgraded Ghoulbane (level 65 weapon) upon completion). So I tried going backwards and did the Restoring the Ghoulbane quest, got a cute little level 32 weapon. Regretably, I can no longer turn this level 32 weapon into a level 65 weapon because I did them out of order. Tried petitioning three times, GM's see the problem but refuse to help me.Sage words of advice: DON'T KILL MORDIGGAN UNTIL YOU OWN A GHOULBANE!

Hack is seriously, seriously glitched with his quests. My friends and I have run about 5 characters through this in the last week, and every time we had to deal with Hack we had some mess or another with the quests. Most of them seem to revolve around the Golgas quest. The only suggestion I have is to go the Ghoulbane route instead of Golgas, and be prepared to switch between the various quests Hack advances at that point until you finally get all of them done.
