Melee skills vs spell upgrades

Heya fellas,As many of you all, I'm melee specced, and thus my spells are now transformed into melee attacks. All these are Adept 1, as I have 5/5 points in them - but my question to you all is the following:If I go out and buy an expensive spell upgrade, will it affect my melee attack? And if I don't buy new spells, will the melee attacks automatically upgrade?-Cheers for the help - Nillafurr

Nope they don't.As a matter of fact, your spells aren't "transformed" at all. You get the combat arts in addition to your spells. And those combat arts you get from the AA's are stuck at Adept 1. But that's no problem, the damage they do is quite nice.They do however run on the same timer. I keep two bars around so I have access to both sets all the time. You never know when you have to go ranged to put on a dot to get that runner, or when you have to pull something or have to root-kill a named.

Yep, you're right indeed. And thanks for your reply, however...Will it auto-upgrade once the skill upgrades? I mean, when a new tier of the spell is avaliable.- also I just realised how much melee wardens get shafted with the level 75 Master II choice - only two to choose from!

Your combat arts will auto-upgrade as you level. If you took the fire one at...say level 15...you could level to 80 without ever buying a spell and still have a level 80 fire melee attack.

Ah cool, so they'll automatically scale with you as you level? That's handy, I never knew that.Thanks for the replies
