![]() I just want to say... I love my coercer, she is the toon I enjoy most of all my alts. I have a 70 warden and 70 assassin, 44 defiler, 42 inquisitor, and a ton of lower lvl alts of many different classes. None shines like the coercer. It is not a broken class. I am so looking forward to RoK, because I can go with a group into a slightly too high dungeon or instance again and feel I am the reason the group makes it alive. Yellow/orange cons is where I have the most fun. Any lower lvl place, I don't use all my tools, if nothing unusual happens... just stun/daze/stifle etc. But then again, I can always grab a pet to keep myself busy and up my damage a little. My healers are great and all, I like keeping people alive... but when there is an emergency I feel powerless as a healer. Some emergency buttons, heal heal heal... oh [Removed for Content] we died, or oh great we lived, that's all. As a coercer, I have real tools to deal with emergencies. I just grab the adds and hold them for as long as needed. (If you never get emergencies... you are fighting too easy content!) I still smile at the memory of my first time in Fallen Gate with the coercer, with a pickup group. Some adds came, it was pretty chaotic for a while. After the fight, when things was calm again, the tank said: -Hey I think I am stuck in combat. Me: -Umm... could you kill this add too please? A little later, the group wiped except for me and the healer. I charmed one mob and mezzed the other two (yellow heroics). I started typing in chat to the healer to bring the group up... sadly the healer didn't understand the power of the coercer and started to nuke the mobs... LOL [Removed for Content] furys thinking they are dps /grin/. I think that now with all the tools I have, I could have killed the mobs and rezzed the group even with the fury down. No other class can do that in a cramped environment. There have been quite a few threads lately about how the class suck and how broken it is. I disagree. I feel for you raiders, too bad that you feel worthless. However, I am in a casual non-raiding guild, I group and solo mostly, and I absolutely love the class. I am more powerful as a coercer than any other class. It is only half a joke when I say SoE nerfs us because we are overpowered... (I die a lot in pvp though, but that's just my lack of pvp skill I believe... lol) Ramborg, 70/100 coercer of Venekor Guild leader of Norrsken

Just as the coercers who raid have to realize like you do, not everyone plays this game the same way, and you have to respect the needs/wants of the other side when making criticisms. As someone who plays both I am sometimes very content and sometimes very discontent with my class. |

Well, I dunno about the OP, but I love my coercer. I have all but given up my conjuror as I find her so not fun in comparison. I feel like I bring alot to the table and have more tools to address crazy situations then my other toons. I look foreward to the rest of the ride

![]() I would just say that the coercer has very different solo, group and raid playstyles and capabilities. Not everyone likes all three. |

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. You like your Coercer. I want to like mine but constant nerfs and messed up spell/game mechanics prevent me from doing much. They fix charm and reactives and this class might be fun again. Our damage needs to be active not passive.

![]() Part of me agree's with the original poster. Go into an instance that is going to be tough, either a bit higher than your group level or trying to do an instance with 4 players etc and the abilities of the coercer shine. We are kept busy, and I do find it the most amazing class in the game. Many times my guildmates have said "How did we survive that". That's when I feel that we are valuable to a group. Go into an instance with a full group and a group that is balanced and thats when I feel we are lacking (applies to raiding also) We dont need to really mez anything (only adds that may wander into the fray) and then we end up looking like a poor dps mage. This is the area that SoE needs to fix, make a coercer needed in a full balanced group. Whether this is by adding more wandering mobs, I think castle mistmoor is a zone that is a good zone that makes use of a coercer, or by changing some of our abilites so we can nuke instead of relying on reactives. But my main style of play is guild groups and solo, so I do feel needed as a coercer and I do enjoy the solo play. But on the few raids and out of guild groups I have done, i do feel as though we only use a few of our abilities... |
