I've been sticking with thrown weapons exclusively due to our Arctic Blast CA and our Hail of Steel requiring we have a thrown weapon equiped.  But I'm noticing more and more at the end game that there are an extreme deficit of good thrown weapons and that there are some very nice bows totting impressive stat bonuses.

So, the question begs to be asked, does the 2 CAs that we have that are dependant upon thrown weapons warrent us passing by the impressive bows end game?

What are some of you other Swashies using?

Thanks for your feedback!

If you look at some of the damage and procs, I think there is little value in keeping our CAs vs foregoing a high end fabled bow.

And of course, there's always the option to create a macro that swaps the bow out, swaps in a thrown satchel/etc. and then executes the CA and then swaps it back.

I use Bag of Broken Cogs: dmg 73-169, delay 2.9 sec, 83.4 rating It doesn't mention dmg type, but I presume it's crushing.

I bought mine off the broker, but it drops in Unrest. It's biggest advantage is that it gives you 99 cogs and if you run out (which I never have), you just re-equip/use. Its stats aren't that great (+28agi, +80 health, +80 power), but after I equip/use I re-equip my other satchel with much better stats. It's disadvantage is that the cogs disappear when you log out, so you have to remember to equip/use it each new time.

A fabled bow probably still would be better, but I rarely use ranged attacks. So, depending on how much you rely on ranged attacks, Bag of Broken Cogs is a nice one to have.

Also Bag of Broken Cogs. I got a +10dps adorn for it, plus it's free ammo.

I have since got the PvP throwing weapon which is better in most respects, but I can't afford another adorn so I tend to favour the Bag.

Well, Hail of Steel does about the same damage over an extended period as ranged auto attack with the spine sheath (m1 with 4 aa's). So we really only have 1 respectable ranged attack that requires a throwing weapon. That being said, all procs aside, a 9.0 delay ranged weapon with a good spread such as the Rigid Scale Bow should vastly outperform a 3.2 delay ranged weapon with a good spread such as the one off Farstride, just based on proc chances alone. Factor in crits (not that a swashbuckler would have much of a ranged crit chance, but still) and the gap becomes much larger. Now we'll talk about a bow like the Star Darkened - procs a forced ranged crit at 1.8 ppm. To achieve 1.8 ppm at that delay, the proc chance is something like 25-30%. Needless to say critical hit chance is extremely beneficial for a bow with such a wide damage ratio and long delay. Factor in haste and dps, and again, the gap becomes even larger. So the choice is pretty obvious. I'm still using a spine sheath though because Mayong has never dropped the bow. I'm sure you can still swap out to a throwing weapon to use Arctic Blast every 20-30 seconds depending on your AA setup.

I use a T7 mastercrafted satchel.  Since I really don't use ranged combat much, I opted for something that gave me a pretty good balance of nice stats.  I suppose if I had to fight from range more often, then I'd probably find a nice bow.

From having mostly been a healer and nuking to pull...that's how I pretty much use ranged, and use thrown weapons for it (I have a dragonhide bandolier and adamantine shurikens equipped).

Am I missing a potential here?
