Level 51 Tradeskills are a downgrade?

In the words of the last tradeskill dev (not Domino): the arts "fill in" some of the gaps in the arts. They aren't suppose to be upgrades, they're supposed to be "choices".But... this is exactly why the tradeskill arts are getting an overhaul and being redone. There are a few threads about it, not sure if they're on the front page any more.
