![]() Just a couple of questions about this adventure pack. I have done a search but info seems to be a bit old and I don't know if it is up to date. First off, is it worth my lvl 30 monk going in there. I've read that it is solo and scales to your level, but what is to be gained from the instance. How do you enter? A while ago my illy got abducted in Thundering Steppes and ended up in there and I just zoned her out again because I was in the middle of something. Is this the only way to enter or is that something different. I was thinking about Devistating Fist, but I now think that is in Bloodlines. Thanks in advance for any info and advice. |

Its not realy worth going there, its always a better place to go, with better loot, the loot there got nerfed badly aftar a while, to get there you have to /claim a shard that you examine to start a quest, then you do it til it leads you to the thundering steps and tells you to enter, then you simply click one of those strange bone-somthing the gnolls lurk around

You can't beat the free 20% exp a level in harclaves for 5 mins of work. |

![]() You can't beat the free 20% exp a level in harclaves for 5 mins of work. That's a major exaggeration. Yes, you can bypass content and speed up a Harclaves run, but then you're going to get next to nothing at all. Not to mention that the whole instance has been beaten so badly with the nerfstick, it's not even funny. Even if you go through the whole thing and kill every mob, you'd need to have vitality and about 20-40 minutes of time, depending on your class. And then, of course, there's the lockout timer. The Harclave of today is not what it was back in 2005. Sometimes I still run through it with new toons, but mostly for nostalgia purposes. Were I buying the game new, the only xpack I would recommend is Fallen Dynasty, when you hit level 60 or so. Splitpaw is largely a waste of time with it's absolutely craptastic loot tables (95% of the time, you're going to get crafting raws like carbonite canteens and broken shields). Bloodlines is fun at the start, but grows tiresome. Virtually no one does it anymore -- a big part of that being the 2nd quest which can be a huge pain, particularly with mixed groups where some players are from Qeynos and others from Freeport; people go through that, and just say "screw it" and go on to something else. The other part of that is for 8 or so of the 11 quests, you're running through the same zone again and again and again and again... it's not exactly inspired content. These days, you're more likely to see level 60ish players soloing it because they want Vampire Mastery. You couldn't find a level-appropriate group (30s to low 40s) to save your life. |

It's not an exageration.... you say you run alts thru it but I guess you haven't done it in while. Inviz, click on all the fires, get harclaves buff, kill mushroom guy, inviz, kill last guy, click chair to get a free 20% every level up to 50. (declines after level 50). |

![]() I think it's well worth it. The first time you do the instances, you get AA (as well as any AA you get for the nameds). Additionally, a quick trip back to Thundering Steppes can be very convenient. |

Yep, even in later levels, the extra teleport ability (for non-teleporters) makes the buy worthwhile. |

![]() Agreed on multiple points. Harclave (done right) is by far the best time/exp value of any quest in the game. The arena is still a somewhat fun trial of your solo skills. (although with AA points it's a lot easier than it used to be) The teleport stone makes this a free trip to the TS docks if you can evac...and if you can't, it's only a griffin ride away. You'll get a free lvl 20 spell that will probably replace 1 of your other normal spells. You will not have to upgrade this as it scales with your level. (e.g. If you're a fighter, you'll get a new single-target taunt that you'll never have to buy upgrades for) If you're having trouble doing Harclave in less than 9 minutes, do a search for Harclave in this forum and there's multiple guides. Basically, you want to invis to the arc, then head to shroom king, pull and kill in a distant corner, reinvis and then go reclaim the throne...so only about 4 mobs need to die. On the other hand: *the loot is nowhere near on par with what you'll get from a heroic dungeon crawl. *if you don't "finish" the quest line in Splitpaw, you'll constantly be reminded of it whenever you finish another quest...as your journal will automatically switch to the "I need to find out what is happening to the Splitpaw Gnolls." |

![]() Well it's still fun for the solo "something to do," really. I went through the quests with my swashbuckler recently and enjoyed it. You also get a house item for defeating the arena, and what is basically a teleport to the Thundering Steppes, which comes in handy at times.

If nothing else, its worth doing for the xp and for the shard itself. who wouldn't like a free port to TS? You use your stone, call into splitpaw, then click on the exit door and choose 'exit to TS" lot cheaper than paying 60s per ticket in qeynos... (ok, yep, Im a cheapskate) But mostly it saves time if you are in say....Loping plains and you are hearthed to kelethin but want to get to TS fast...

![]() Thanks to all of you. Seeing as I've got it on my station players sub I might as well give it a whirl, even if it's just for the AA xp and shard. |

Splitpaw is worth doing for one simple reason: its fun. Personally thats what I look for above all else. Experience is good; loot is as good as outside - tho remember the pack scales so you can always mentor down or level lock at a x9 level and farm the upper tunnels for those dreadfully expensive tradeskill books; and you get a free teleport to TS / gnoll illusion as an added bonus. I really like Splitpaw, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Splitpaw is fun. The shard is useful. Most of the loot is not very good, but the rewards from the solo arena can be decent for some classes, and there are some decnet stuff from the raids. Unfortunately the first raid has been bugged for a while. Bloodlines has become more popular since vampire mastery was added to the rewards. I agree the second quest can be tedious, but it is good xp if you are the right level for it.

![]() Splitpaw scales to your level from 20 to 50. Bloodline is less solo friendly and is mostly low 30's mid 40's. Fallen Dinasty is lvl 55+ (or lvl 50+ in tradeskill) |
