Ever since tuesday's patch (9/18/07) I can't log in.  There is a message on the "chat" area telling me they are looking into the server issue and telling me to go to the announcement section in the forum for updates.

I can't find anything! I've looked all over the forums.  I've tried the support site with no luck.  I've called San Diego Calafornia three times and keep getting into dead ends with the infuriating "press one for..." menus.  I can't log on the the chat help because it tells me to update my e-mail address with the system, which I do, then it plops me right back to where I was and tells me to update it again!

I'm hopping mad now, because I've wasted three hours trying to find out if it is just my computer having the problem or if it is a system wide problem and SOE is just doing a crappy job of keeping us up to date on what's going on.

Seriously- I've just about had it...  My day off is wrecked.  And I'm about to either set this computer on fire or cancel my account.  And I'm leaning toward the latter since I can't afford a new machine.

Please help.

meh, setting something on fire is always fun, and strangely liberating.

anyway, personally i have no issues when playing on the bazaar server, but thats the only server i play on. you failed to mention which server you are having the issues on.

to be perfectly honest, i cannot find mention of that on the forums anywhere either.

do you get any error messages when trying to log in, (IE crash info windows, etc.) or does it just say something along the lines of trying login server #1, #2, #3, etc?

any crash info would be extremely helpful in determining your problem.

Problem solved!  After much gnashing of teeth, I discovered that it was my antivirus software that was causing the problem.  I can't imagine what it was about this update in particular to run afoul of the software, but disabling it allowed me to log on.

I'm running Panda, which is crappy, anyhow, but now that it's messing up my gaming... The Panda Must Die!

 Thank you SMILEY

Oh- and it's Permasoft I'm playing on.  Cheers and thank you
