I think this is the right forum...I got 50 about a month ago, and had to take a break because of final exams in my summer courses. I came back recently, and I'm really kind of shocked at how slow everything is past 50. Obviously, I'm in expansion territory now, and I understand that it slows down, but all the quests I have are at least three levels higher than me. I normally play with a friend, and we can do a few of the higher level quests, but even those are out-pacing me now.My question is... I'm 53 and a half now. I've been to Lfay, I've been to Pillars of Flame, I've been to Living Tombs and myriad other places. Is there somewhere that I'm missing that has lots of quests and good exp? Does it get any better? Even if it takes a long time to level, are there at least good quests to be doing? Thanks for your input

Have you run the Sinking Sands questlines yet?

There is no wa yin the world you have done all the lfay quest and still lvl 53. Something like 46 quest in lfay alone will carry you almost to 60. also there like 30 some thing quest in steamfont that would get ya a lot of xp at around 50. you say you been to these places are you just goign there then leaveing? all the places you listed will level you nicely if you bother to do the quest for those zones. i leveled a dirge in 12 days /played to 70 with over 90 AA with no xp off and just doing quest. No grind other than the mobs required by the quest. No way leveling is slow.

I think he was saying that a lot of the quests are higher level and he doesn't always have access to a duo partner. He is having trouble bridging the gap between where he is now and when he will be able to easily do these quests.Me and the wife are leveling some characters that we want to play on in Kunark.  We recently hit the 50s and it has slowed down for us. We mostly quest and kill in LFay. As a duo we haven't had any trouble doing the quests so far, even if they are higher level. If you haven't tried them simply because they are orange con you may give them a go anyways when you have a partner. I also wanted to get enough faction with Court of the Coin to be able to get the Call of Ro ability. I made pretty decent exp solo taking and completing a Coin faction quest on the beach in SS and then flying to Maj'Dul. I would proceed to a Tears Grifter and kill all Truth and Blades guards I saw on the way. Then I would run the mission. Sometimes I would get lucky and be able to get a second mission as soon as I turned in the first. After that the lock out for the faction quest giver in SS would be close to being up again so I would kill all guards on the way to the Maj'Dul carpet, fly down to SS and repeat the process. It actually turned out to be decent exp as well as faction. You also don't notice your grinding as much because you mostly keep on the move.

The Sinking Sands questilne that starts with the merchant on the beach (his name escapes me atm) that later segues into PoF is a very nice, doable questline. And doing the quests to get your faction up with a Court, any court, are rewarding as well. Which LFay questlines have you done? I know I nearly missed the Fae Court things and they involve mostly solo mobs that should be doable at that level.

You could probably also go to the Tenebrous Tangle (use spire in Commonlands or Antonica).   The introductory quests (including the "basket quests&quotSMILEY should be quite doable with mobs in the 55-56 range.  Make sure to pick up the quests in the Hidden Refuge at the bottom of the waterfall.

You can't do those if you're a freeporter.

What? of course you can.I'm from freeport and I have done all the Ghassan the trader line and have 30k positive faction in the court of coin. What's there not to do if you are evil?

I agree completely.  I stopped playing my Coercer when I got to 56 just because of how [Removed for Content] long it takes to do anything, even just progress.  I've been leveling a Fury and a Templar but I'm just not looking foward to when they hit 50+.  I think generally it just takes LOADS more xp to get those last 10-20 levels then it did to actually get to 50.

You can certainly do them if you're from Neriak, so I've no idea why you wouldn't be able to do them as a Freeporter.

You're either out of your mind or a glutton for punishment(the GRIND kind).Progression is too slow for me.  I play pretty casually, and I'm 56 on my main.  I've been playing since week 2 of release.  Small breaks here and there and a couple alts, one who is 30.  And yet XP is too fast?  My butt.  SMILEYThe only time I think the xp income is ok is when I have 100% rest bonus.

Accually 50-60 so far is the hardest to get past and with the quest lines in SS, PoF, and now the end of Steamfont, and Lfay its got alot easier(heck I have done a number of the Looping quests already at 59, skiped many of the SS/PoF quests). Just because it's yellow does not mean it is not doable. Lvling from 60-70 is cake compaired to 50-60.

Don't forget the Peacock questline that starts in Maj'dul. A lot of quests, and some are pretty long, but they all give nice XP and great AA

I agree. I am finding the exp is coming way too easily to my alt now... and there is all sorts of new content that was added since my main was her level eons ago.To the OP, try to get groups together to go to the dungeons if you're needing exp. I always find grouping is an effective way to get lots of exp fast if that is your goal.

I don't grind solo or group....all I do is quests. There is a sickening amount of quests that will net you a good chunk of AA and exp. Also, If you have been playing since week 2 of release why wouldn't you always have 100% rest  bonus. SMILEY

I quoted the wrong person - I mean you cannot do the fae court quests if you're a freeporter. Not the sinking sands ones.

Actually you quoted the right person, just the wrong part of my post. That sucks, though. Was it always like that? Or just a change since Neriak and arasai went in? Obviously since I'm a goodie croaking ranger, I couldn't give input on the Freeport side of things SMILEY

I do whenever I get on my Coercer, which is almost never now a days.  But it doesn't take that long to get rid of it either.

If think leveling is too slow in this game then you are grinding too much. That is the only way you level slow and feel it. Doing the grind over and over. All of the steamfont quests should be soloable to you at 50. There are about 40 of them. Personally, I would skip DoF their are not that many quests and they take a long time. Go right to Lfay and TT. If you do insist on DoF don't do the peacock only until it gets to LT then stop. LT is a huge timesink and the quests get too long for their reward (if leveling fast is what you want). Do the timeline in PoF too then get out of DoF. There is definately a dead spot between 50-60 where you run out of quests and the next bunch our too high.Good luck

If you manage to get into a full group doing a dungeon that is the right level at any level up to 70 you will, in a matter of a few hours, manage to acquire in the region of a full level of experience.  This is hardly something to be considered slow, one would think.  That's just from doing a dungeon with a few quests and a lot of heroic mob killing!Perhaps it might be worthwhile to actually go LFG and try to get into a semi decent group once in a while?
