I get this every once in a while....  I think it has something to do with a combination of keys/mouse that I am using....

I use autorun and will sometimes use my keyboard arrows as well..   or I am chatting while on auto run...  I am not sure what causes it.  What I do to stop it though is I usually pull my mouse out of the game window and tap it...  I play in windowed mode to see the clock and other windows that are open...   or another monitor SMILEY

You might want to try deleting some of the basic setting files for the game if trading out keyboards doesn't have an effect.

You may want to delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

This is an on-going issue for many users through the years, and happens quite frequently for those of us that use a wireless keyboard.  The quickest way to get out of the spinning is to hit the "Windows Key" and click back into the game window.  It's a keyboard focus issue!

The Windows key is the one that has the Windows emblem on it!

I hope that this works for you, but I dont think that is the only reason that this happens as I do not have a wireless keyboard SMILEY

this can be due to having a gamepad connected to your comp, and a key profiler such as Pinnacle Game Profiles or Xpadder having a analog stick being A or D. the analog stick's dead zone could be too small.

happened to me a few times. just unplug the gamepad if you have one connected

Both my wife and I the Logitech G15 keyboard and it happens to both of us quite often over the years. It is a known problem. I have to /quit and then EXIT and restart EQ2 before the problem goes away. I also have a DEll 1720 Inspiron laptop that plays EQ2 just fine but every now and again my characters will start spinning, but on the laptop I just press the key for the opposite direction and it corrects itself. I guess all I'm saying is that this bug has been around for years.

I had the originl G15 when it started.  I had that keyboard since it came out.  I first saw the spinning during the excavation events in Sinking Sandsa a fe months ago.  I can't shake the feeling that it is a combination of mouse/keyboard keys that I am pushing to get it spinning.  I have noticed that when I would click my mouse outside of the Game window, it would stop.  I Used to have 2 monitors set up (one for game and one for browsing), I would just click on the other monitor.  With Christmas came the new G15 keyboard and a larger monitor (so I only have one monitor now).  If I start the spinning, I just click outside the game wiondow and I stop...

Thanks for providing that info.  I never use wireless keyboards so I have never experienced the problem myself.  For some reason I tend to prefer really old keyboards(my keyboard at home is so old I need an adapter to plug it in to the PS/2 port).
