Im new to this game, and i have mixed feelings about it. The game itself is just awesome. But im having alot of problems with it. it keeps freezing and gives me an error that says: directxrenderingdevice something something and D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE. How do i fix this?Ive tried alot: Deleting nvidia drivers, using drive cleaner pro and getting new updated drivers. Turning off all other programs using msconfig, but it still cant be played with decent graphics.I got a HP pavillion dv9000 laptop with:Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU      T5500 @ 1.66GHz (2 CPUs) processor2064MB RAM512 RAM nvidia Geforce go 7600 graphics card with nv4_disp.dll driverBIOS: ver 1.00PARTTBLhDirectx 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)Does anyone see why i cant play this game right? My computer should be more then good enough.

Below post was made by a fellow player and can be found with in the "Top Issues List And Troubleshooting Guide" up top, as follows:

I've noticed that the knowledge base is missing a potential answer to this problem. This error message is commonly caused by Everquest 2 attempting to use a resolution and refresh rate that is no longer suppoted by your computer system. For example - use of a new plug and play LCD monitor. To fix this error open your Everquest 2 directory. The default path for this directory is:C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest IIOnce inside open up eq2_default.ini - make sure the following lines are present and the values match:cl_screenwidth 1024cl_screenheight 768Often the cl_screenheight will be too large for your new monitor - simply change their values to reflect what is shown above here and then close and save the file. Now open up eq2_recent.ini - check the following lines and make sure the values match:cl_screenwidth_windowed 800cl_screenheight_windowed 600cl_screenwidth 1024cl_screenheight 768cl_screenrefresh 60Make sure that the windowed values are smaller than the non-windowed values. If you are using an LCD display make sure that the cl_screenrefresh rate matches your LCD's rate exactly.Change cl_screenwidth/height to match whatever you used for values in the last file. Close and save the file.Everquest 2 should now run just fine.

[Edit] Some players (especially with nVidia cards) have reported that turning off V-Synch in the Game Options, as well as their Display Properties in Windows, will resolve a D3Derr_notavailable error.

You should be able to see vsync under the 3D settings of the video control panel under Windows display properties. You also need to disable this feature with in EverQuestII display option settings.

I am addressing the DirectX error message. If you are not getting that error message anymore; due to not being able to login, then we are dealing with a different issue. Please be more detailed about what you mean by not able to login. At what point is it failing to do so.
