Since we're heading down that path of re-evaluating and re-touching lower level content would it make sense to take another look at the rewards from some of the Heritage Quests? In particular the Glowing Black Stone and Shiny Brass Shield quests both offer lacking rewards for that tier. Mastercrafted (some of the easier ones to attain) beats them hands down.

Not to mention that Guise of the Deciver does not even hold up through zoning.

It doesn't need to.  It's instantly re-useable.  It doesn't use a bone like the petrified eyes either.

I absolutely agree 100% that HQ reward items need a MAJOR revamp.

Ghoulbane, anyone?  Long, difficult quest full of campfests, topped off by a raid that last time I did it (and that was a long time ago) was notoriously difficult and required players to be in the upper 30's at least.  Yet the weapon is equippable at level 32, and sub-par even then.  The weapon should be fabled, as are newer HQ weapons that require you to fight raid mobs.

Ghoulbane was fixed, in so much that you can upgrade it later in your 60's through a Signature Quest series.  They should maybe look into doing that for all the lower HQ's below 50 to give them a longer life-span and desired use.

On ghoulbane:

In eq1, My lvl 52 paladin still uses ghoulbane - I've had the thing for 30+ levels and i'm still using it, it's such a cool weapon (added the blessing of rodcliff i think that adds a 250 dam proc to a weapon vrs undead and well...)

So yeah, I think the ghoulbane should definatly be something to "ooo" about for the difficulty of the quest.

Also SMILEY Can you possibly make a blunt 1h version of it for us clerics?

Please! SMILEY those are just collections, Guise of trhe Deciver is an intricate questloine that goes through Nek Castle, sometimes multiple times even with zone spawning. The hardest bones to find are the cracked bones and for those you just need to be parient and hunt around old world T2 zones.

The Rallosian Steel quest (or is that the name of the sword?) is stupidly easy to do in the feerott and is better than Ghouldbane.

what about "Ebon Eye Pouch"?, only decent extra slots, it would be nicer if it got 25%-50% lighter in weight.

Wouldnt it be nice is the Guise of the Deceiver actually worked???? Forget whether or not it hold up for zoning - who cares, its worthless anyway. Now if it actually allowed you to fool the guards of the opposing alignment then it would have value. Same with the petrified eye illusions. Oh yes, please let me fill up my banks with that worthless garbage. Oh look, I can be a gnoll but wait, the gnolls are still attacking me /shrug...pitiful.

Lets make things work to begin with then you can work out the minor bugs.

Yeah but they would need an alternate reward for evils, or an extra step at the end where you take it to a Tier'Dal who is gifted enough to monkey with it to make one look like a High elf.

The original EQ1 mask never worked like that though.

I agree. I actually just did this raid last night with 40-42 avg level (a couple of mentored 70s) and although it wasn't a cake walk, it was definitely a rough one. Ghoulbane from EQ1 was a big old sword with slow delay and high damage. I don't see why this can't be the same. Make it something like 19-58 with a 2 second delay (about on par with Fabled T4 weapons).

I agree, I was highly disappointed in Ghoulbane...  Even the updated one is nothing to write home about and is expensive to upgrade (ie, not worth it)

That isn't fixing the weapon.  Fixing it would be making the original HQ reward on par with the risk needed to get it.  Following your logic, I have to do not only an insanely long and difficult HQ, but then an expensive quest later on, only to find out that the weapon is still subpar.
