Hi, I am a former VG player that just got the special promo post card, the one with the "$60" value that is supposed to have all three expansions, the adventure paks, and the base game til Sept 15.  My problem is that it doesn't let you play half the races.  I can't start a game in quenos or freeport, I remember doing so when I played this in 2005 for a few months when it came out.  When I try to start a race from one of those cites, it says ,cant do because of trial status.  Trial status?  The post card says the give you the game. So this makes we wonder, if it is somewhat false advertising.... will they make you pay for the original boxed/downloaded versions after the 15th?  Or will you just pay a sub fee and keep the games but the rest of the races will unlock?  I really hope it is the later, if not all the warm feelings I have for SOE right now for letting me play will go out the window! If its a gift, it should include everything in the game, not half the races! Also if anyone knows how to enable AA for this game on a geforce 8800gts, please let me know! Thanks.

I'm don't know that much about the promotion. The Play The Fae trial forces you to first creation a Fae character (and get it to level 5(?) I think), and then you can create any race (just don't delete the Fae character). It might be the same deal with this, as technically you are on a trial as you're not paying a subscription..?

Oh, and AA: Add the following line to the eq2.ini file in your EQ2 directory (or create one if you don't have one): r_aa_blit 1 Save it, then set the AA for EQ2 using the Nvidia control panel.  It didn't used to support anything above x4 before, I don't know if this is still the case.

They restricted the VG Player promotion players to have to start in either Neriak or Kelethin first.  You must get one of those characters to lvl 5.  Then you can park that character and create whatever you want.  However don't delete that lvl 5 because if you do then the rule kicks in again. I think they did this because Kelethin/Neriak's newbie areas are better then the old areas.
