Returning to the game after beign away for a few years (never really played all that much when the game came out to begin with heh).

1. People talk about race bonuses but i cant find info on this.. for example, how do you know that wood elves get +2% crit? Is there somewhere i can go look up the racial bonuses for all races?

2. How does betraying work? More specifically, im planning on playing on Antonia Bayle, can i become a dark elf ranger? If i "betrayed" the evil side to be a ranger, how does grouping with my friends that plan to be evil characters work? Is it like EQ1 where race really doesnt matter for grouping/raiding?

 Thanks for any info,

Hey and welcome back to EQ2 SMILEY 1. You can find some race bonuses on eq2i: http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Category:...haracter_Races. 2. Betraying is a quest line you need to do. The quests are scaled to your own level, but you cannot start until you are level 10. The quest can be somewhat lengthy, since there is a faction work you need to do before you can go to your new city. You should also note that all your skills will be reset to Apprentice I when you join your new city (after the faction hunt and all the betrayal quests). Betrayal starts, when betraying from: Qeynos: Sprockfuddle in Qeynos Harbor (985,-25,2) (found under the bridge close to the docks) Freeport: Izzay in West Freeport (in the Inn) Kelethin: Saelir Varryn (220,112,404) Neriak: Magister De'Pater in The Spires of Innoruuk. If you betray a ranger (Goody side) to the evil side, that character will switch to an Assassin when you are finished. So, if you want to be a Dark Elf ranger, you need to start a Dark Elf Assassin, and then betray that one to either Qeynos or Kelethin. There is no limitation with groups, guilds, etc. between the good and evil players. The only limitation is that the opposite guards in their hometown will attack you at sight. In EQ2 race/class combination has little to no effect, except maybe below level 20 (or before you get any gear that compensate for the actual difference).

On pve servers, you can group across factions, so no worries there. If you betray the evil side, all evil side city guards will be KoS with you. The good side guards wont.

Ok so then i wont be able to do any "evil side" quests with my friends. Will all npcs kill me or just guards? Are quests all that important to lvling as they are in other games like WoW?

Im not trying to be a good Dark elf, im trying to be a evil ranger, but i guess thats not gonna happen lol.

Well.. you COULD betray all they way to Qeynos, and then go back to exile, and get your freeport faction up to good levels so that the guards in FP wont be KoS with you, and voila! You are now an evil ranger. SMILEY albeit an exiled one. At least I think its doable to get the freeport faction up enough as an exiled so guards wont be KoS.
