Is there anyway to get the numerical values for the spells? It looks as though that is what is needed for the command /cancel_effect to work.

You can not use /cancel_effect Clarity for example.

Only current way to cancel maintained effects is to right click the effect in the maintained effect window, and click on cancel.

not so,  you can also use /cancel_maintained starting with the number 0. The only problem with it is if you have 5 spells up and do cancel_maintained 0 then recast the spell, the spells do not move up in priority until you zone or relog, so the spell that you would think was now in the 0 slot is still in the 1 spot and the new spell you just cast becomes 6. Thus making it very hard to create a macro to cancel abilities very quickly.
