Hi,

I just started this game around about 3 weeks ago,  I've tried a few classes and the Shadowknight seems to fit me the best.  After countless losses with different toons I realized to compete I have to gear up and get aa's and so fourth.  So I started over and I did everything right this time around.   I have him in very descent gear,  250-400 in all resists some master crafted armor (legs, chest, weapon and shield).  Hes level 15 with 12 aa's  (i'm not the best at getting aa's yet).   I have all spells but two of them at Master.  Masters for sk's are suprisingly cheap compared to other classes.  I went down the Reaver line for AA's to max my healing potential.

With that said,  heres my problem.  I know the class,  i'm finally doing better in PVP.  I know its not designed around solo but I like to quest solo and hunt named solo.  I get jumped one on one all the time when I do this but I don't mind.  I like it!   I like 1 vs 1 fights alot.   The problem is,  if I begin to lose,  I feel like I really have no escape as most classes are scouts or druids that beat the crap out of me as I run (keep in mind i'm level 15).  What i'm frustrated at is when I do turn the fight in my favor,  which happens far more than I lose,  they run away from me and I have no way to stop them.  I had 3 different destroyers down to nothing last night and all of them got away.  With no snares, roots, no ranged damage on the move other than a bow shot thats hardly enough to finish them off what can I do?

So my question is this.  Is there anything available to me that I can use to slow them down from getting away from me.  Is there an item or a trick that I havn't learned yet.   Any help on this would appreciated.

To make a killer SK get mastercrafted gear for whatever teir you are in and then get the spike adornments for your shield and shoulder. Make sure at very least you have adept3s and good weapn/shield and you will be a walking terror. The spike Adornments combined with you damage ward can make many a player kill themselves while they are trying to kill youSMILEY And if you group with a druid have them thorn you or a wizard ice shield you and you can slaughter many a players. A well played SK can destroy alot of classes with easeSMILEY

You get a snare later on (admitedly it's not a very GOOD one... but it is a snare) also at level 20, you get Harm Touch. Instant cast, HUGE damage, 30m range. By the time they realise they're going to lose and try running, they're low enough that HT will one-shot them.

Also, if you're a ratonga, you can do a quest on the docks in temple street (ratonga only) which gives you a clicky item with a snare on it that works right up to level 70. If you're a tinkerer (no reason not to be) you can make a troll snot flinger! (it's a snare item)

There are many ways of getting snares, you just have to find them (which you have now done, ask on the forums and ye shall receive [flames])

TBH, you should be owning scouts rather easilty(rangers get tougher to fight after they hit lvl 17, that archers stance has that little proc that seems to hit every other shot ) as long as you keep them debuffed and keep your 2 little dots on them, you shouldnt have to much trouble with them. you can get them to 50% hp without even trying, them just burn them down keeping your shield bash for when they are about to flee.

Druids are basicly a power game, just use melee/blessing and dot taunt to keep them healing them selves and if they are stupid enough to get close to 50-60% burn them down.

your Blessing CA is your best friend when fighting. some ppl say HT. i would'nt know. i dont have it yet. prob never gonna get it

untill you hit higher lvls, most classes will be able to get away from you for the most part.

i consider that a win in my bookSMILEY.

The ones that say HT is the best spell a sk has are actually the ones that dont know the true power of the sk. Blessing is the best skill you have, and not until 55 will it get a rival with tap veins. SMILEY Of course, together with all the other lifetaps up high, blessing is also very good. Especially against scouts. HT is a once every 15 minutes "Oh crap" spell. Or "No, dont you go running boy!"
