![]() Ok I don't really know anything about computers, so bare with me... I got an... -Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400 -2048 MB DDR2 Memory -nVidia GeForce 7300LE I'm not sure what other info is important... So I figured this would be a nice upgrade from my old system which was about 5 years old, only had 1gig of ram on it. And I've loaded EQ2 and can't seem to play it on settings any higher than extreme performance. Basically it's playing the same as it did on my old PC, except I can zone faster. My frame rate sucks, and it feels like im moving in slow motion. Basically I'm having the same issues that this guy had... http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=372047 . My guildy told me that my problem is my dual core, and that EQ2 isn't meant to be played on one... But I've read many other people's speccs on this forum and now I'm assuming he's wrong. I've played with the options, with shadows, all the sliders... but nothing works except playing the game on extreme performance... and I could have done that on my old machine. Any suggestions? |

Even though it's a new rig, I'd start with the video drivers and download the newest for that one from nVidia (or the video card manufacturer). Vista? Which make is the PC? Dell, HP, Gateway ...?

That 7300LE is garbage with capital C. It's just pure crap and not made for gaming at all.

Take it from me, I've been building my own PCs for the past 10 years, the video card is very important for EQ2 as well as CPU. You should difinitely change the video card. Here's a very affordable and excellent performer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16814143071 It's a Geforce 7950GT 512MB from BFG and only $259.99 which is a steal. This will give you the performance you're looking for and last you a while. This is also a reason never to buy pre-built computers. You will ALWAYS overpay and get the lowest quality components which they can possibly put into the system, especially video cards. Building a computer is really simple these days. Honestly I would return the PC for a refund and build a system 5x better myself. |

Piece of cake. You have one screw to remove that holds the car in place, then lift it out, pop in the new one (which should have a power connector). Load drivers, and away you go...

The Best Buy card is not quite as good as the one from Newegg. It is still a very decent card and would run EQ2 pretty well. You may want to call Best Buy and see if they have any in stock before going to the store. If you can though I would hold out for the one from Newegg

You also need to make sure your PC even has a PCI-E slot and that the 7300LE isn't onboard or something else funky. Post your PC's specs as requested in this thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=353617 We also need to make sure your PSU can handle a faster card. Posting the above needed info should allow us to find out this info for you.

![]() So I went to BestBuy and got the GeForce 7950 card, and installed it, and now the game is running beautifully, even on balanced. Thanks for everyone's help! |
