I am a returning player and trying to decide on what class to play. I already have a 48 Wizard and a 32 Mystic, and since returning I have leveled a Fury to 19. Right now I am loving Fury and mostly the new content areas from EoF. However, some folks in my guild were telling me that Mystic will be much better end game. But, to me, my Fury seems already much powerful than my Mystic, at least for soloing, which is what I'll have to do since I'm so far behind everyone else now. Should I tough it out with Mystic or stick to Fury? (My guild has an abundance of Wizards... btw, so I don't really want to level him.)

![]() Mystics can now solo very well if you have enough AA into the appropriate places. I would check the forum for more info (they become melee shamans). Furies get sow and ports. Mystic gets an increase sow with AA, but no ports. Other than that, I would suggest you check the class forums, or I'd answer more specific questions if you have them. If the lack of aa scares you, you could mentor your mystic and do quests in lower level places specifically for the AA. |

Furies are fine, and if you like 'em, play 'em! Enjoy the new EoF stuff! That's what it's all about

I just wanted to mention that mystics are now capable of doing dps enough to solo on par with many other classes. Fury will still generally out dps a mystic, but if you like the feel of one class better than the other (wards vs. regens etc) then don't worry about soloability. |

There still seems to be a high demand on mystics out there, especially on raids and in guilds. Mystics are great buffers in groups/raids, while furys still solo way better because of their nukes (dps). I would say, just play that class you think you like better

(My guild has an abundance of Wizards... btw, so I don't really want to level him.)If your guild is talking about "End Game" then they are talking about Raids. If you intend to Raid when you get to the lvl cap, then a Mystic will get you into the Raid Faster then a Fury (though I don't know many smaller Raid guilds that would turn away any healer, the larger "first to kill xxx" ones will though). Also a Mystic's buffs and such are supior to a Fury when in a raid, and as Mystic's wards are better at handling spike damage then a Fury's HoTs that also is a factor in getting into a Raid. Lastly, as furies are easier to lvl then a Mystic there are more of them and again that means a)compition in the Raid for gear, and b) less Raiding opertunity. If you don't think raidings for you then don't worry about your class at all as long as your having fun playing it. |

Thanks for all of the advice and opinions. One of the things that has been frustrating is the lack of AA's on my pre-existing characters (the Wizard and Mystic). Someone mentioned mentoring to catch up. Is that the best way to catch up on AA's? What's the best level to mentor to, and the best zone to try this out? Is there a way to grind something to get caught up on AA's?

![]() Any quest that is 'green' or higher gives AA. You can mentor to make a quest give AA. You also get AA from discovering new places and killing named mobs. You can easily catch up in AA at level 30. I almost dislike the fact that I'm only level 61 and I have 91 AA. I'll easily have all 100 by the time I hit 70 and there's so much AA available at the higher levels that it's amazing. If you wanted to catch up on AA, or just work on it at your current level, try checking someplace like www.eq2i.com for solo quest timelines and get to questing. |

I just reactivated my 60 mystic that had been sleeping since shortly after KoS came out. I had 11 AAs - I didn't have to try very hard to get it up to 45 (while I leveled to 64). To get AAs, do as many quests as you can and discover anywhere you haven't been. Mentor down to do quests (although not below level 10 as you won't get AAs below 10). If there are named mobs out there you haven't killed, go after them. My mystic is much, much more fun now that I have converted all of his spells to Combat Arts (EoF combat tree) and got the melee crits and double attacks from the Agility KoS tree.

![]() At level 32, it wouldn't be hard at all to get your mystic a lot of aa. If you want to maximize AA gain, I'd suggest turning off combat xp and bust out green or better quests/kill any named you can that con green or better. Though I have friends who've recently come back to the game who haven't turned off combat xp and have still gained aa rather quickly. I have a ranger alt that was 36 pre-aa and is now 44 (I don't really play her much, I have a ton of alts I spread my time around) with more than 40 aas. If you played the character as your main it would come much faster, and of course when you get to a point where your quests are hard for your level, turn combat xp on and ding and try again. Also, I'll say that even pre-aa (with all that combat art goodness), mystics weren't bad soloers. They were just a bit slow. Very safe though if you paid attention to what you were doing. The thing that furies have over mystics (I have one of those as well |

![]() Totally depends on what you want. If you are only going to solo or duo then Fury as they are far quicker at killing things. Mystics are wanted by groups and you can get an awful lot of xp off the backs of a group. If raiding is your ultimate aim then play your Mystic...you will be in competition with defilers but playing a fury there will be a ton of them in the pile you will need to crawl to the top of in order to attract the attention of the raid leader. |
