Is there any way to remove the dead space that surrounds bags (when open) and hotbars of the basic UI? If I try to place hotbars too close, the 'dead space' starts to overlap and I find I can't click a button (or hover for information) because the game thinks I'm pointing at a different bag/hotbar. I have been careful, in so far as pressing F10 to see the hidden area that surrounds these items, however there appears to be another 'border' around these which is see through. I sometimes get similar issues with the Journal and the Chat windows, the only way to detect this hidden area is to hover until the mouse pointer changes to show that it's ready to resize the item, then look at the gap between where you are hovering and the actual item graphic. It's annoying when your trying to squeeze as much as possible into as small a space (I like to have as much uncluttered area for 'viewing' the actual game as possible). Alternatively is there any UI mods that provide exactly the same design of bag/hotbar/chat window etc but without these strange 'overlap' border? Any help would be appreciated!

look at www.eq2interface.com , i know the hotbars from Profit-UI don't have that dead space, and i think there are also other mods around for what you seek SMILEY

I personally went into the EQ2 uibuilder and altered the hotbars and bags so that the dead space was minimized to my specifications.

The builder is included with the game and even for someone who hasn't a clue about xml or anything like that is it really easy to use (I can attest to that).

Good luck!

You can simply just use the eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml from Profit. I also think there are other mods there only for the hotkeys, i used another a while ago, however i used the one from profit now since over 6 months, so i can't say exactly which one else is good.

I 2nd the request for this to be fixed in the Default version of the UI!

I know I can get pieces from eq2interface but quite frankly I dislike having my entire custom UI break upon the newest patch.

The only custom parts I use anymore is EQ2maps and the Infocenter ..

so, please ... get rid of the dead space for bags ..

hotbars .. eh .. kinda need some since that's how we access the Hotbar settings (set primary/ secondary / new hotbar /etc) ..

i'm guessing you are referring to the space on the sides if you remove the spinner?

/shrug ..

You don't need to install a completely different UI. Just install window pieces that you like. Here are the bag mods: http://www.eq2interface.com/downloa...p;sb=lastupdate Here are the hotbar mods: http://www.eq2interface.com/downloa...p;sb=lastupdate I'm sure you can find something that works for you. Changes to the game sometimes break the UI mods but individual windows aren't affected by this very often. Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

Space on either side, space above and space below Same with bags (worse with bags for space above and below!)

Where do I find the uibuilder?  Is this an in-game tool or a separate exe ?

Seperate exe.

It's found in a zip file in your EQ2 folder.

Errr, tried the UI Builder, unless I'm doing something wrong it seems waay complex! Think I'll download some profitui items instead.

At least I'm not the only one who wants these dead spaces fixed in the default UI without having to resort to custom mods. It shouldn't matter how long the UI has been broken in this way, it should still be fixed regardless.
