Guide to Unused Items?

The rainbow areas (that you use an orb to look for items and sometimes get a disturbed zombie or skeleton) seem to have increased the number of these seemingly valueless items which may be reserved for some future use. I did a search on 'khazam and eq2i before posting these. Any ideas?

a damaged fetish
a damaged ancient basket
wooden splinter
a clump of fungus
carved bone trinket
strange dark powder

Aren't they vendor trash items? I.E. items you can sell to a vendor for coin? I would suspect that is their "use" to sell them.
