i dont know about everyone else, but i feel like AA/AP trees and such should be a regular update. i know they wont change it, but its one of those necessary things! for my wife and i, we arent rich, we have enough to buy the EQ2 regular ( was 16$ each) and pay 30$ a month for both of us together, but to continually buy expansions, not to mention that EOF alone is 50$, PLUS trying to find it?! i mean thats rediculous. we had to search our entire valley of cities just to find our two copies. so we have to lose out on necessary things like the AA/AP trees and all the spells that come with it. i cant remember what else there was that we miss out on that are important parts of eq2, but we love eq2 and dont think its fair that wed have to not play just to wait til we can afford 100$ for 2 copies of EOF and try to find it, or lose out on all that comes with it by playing and leveling like everyone else. i can understand "lands" and character types being limited to expansions, but the rest is gameplay. as i said i know they wont change it, so this is just a small rant i guess lol. either way, eq2 rocks, and we will just have to do our bests to keep up with everyone else without those bonuses.

To be frank, a good deal of new content is given out most months for our subscription fee, even including new cities and zones, quests, content of all kinds.. I cannot imagine a legitimate complaint about expansion content being limited to those who bought the Xpacks. (and I bought them very very late and went without till then) Sorry.

By the way, EoF, which gives you everything, is available for 37.99 US including shipping on amazon, who have stock for immediate shipping. This took 45 seconds to find.

well for one, thats still almost 80$ for the both of us, and i dont have or want a credit card. i shouldnt need to. sony just needs to get off its high horse and stop holding/keeping most of its sales to internet only. and yes its true, they are, though i dont remember where i read it. frankly if you ask me its a stupid marketing idea. and i know EOF includes everything, but guess what, right after i buy it, there going to come out with another.... yay

Every expansion introduces new zones and new content. Sometimes the new zones are only for higher levels, like in Desert of Flames and Kingdom of Sky and sometimes it's also for lower levels like in Echoes of Faydwer and Rise of Kunark. All the expansions do contain other content for players of all levels too. Desert of Flames gave us the arenas and voice emotes that can be used at any level. Kingdom of Sky gave us Achievements that could be used from level 20. If you don't think it's worth the money you don't have to buy them. Rise of Kunark is supposed to include the base game and all the expansions, just like Echoes of Faydwer did, which I think is great to attract new players. If you'd been playing since the beginning you would have paid about $40 for the original game, $40 for DoF, $40 for KoS, and $40 for EoF. You can save a little money if you pay for your subscription in 3, 6 or 12 month blocks though. Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

i understand taht, but that wasnt the issue. the main point is not that i lose out on land and characters, that is usual, btu that i will miss out on crucial character development processes is completely unfair and should be in updates not expansions. if you look at the last update theres all sorts of things like quests and spells and stuff added and edited. so why not the AP trees?

and its not that i dont want to buy them, its i dont have the $ right now so i lose out while playing

I really wouldnt call AP's crucial lol sure they help but they really dont effect much...and plus the APs are a small selling point of the expansions they come in, so why give them to you for free? Just wondering SMILEY

The EoF AA tree is a crucial selling point of the expansion. If it's that financially crippling then perhaps MMOs aren't for you at this point in time, every MMO has them.. and every expansion brings something that most of the time is considered essential. The next expansion isn't out until November, so not sure why you're acting like it's due out in about two weeks.

AAs are crucial on PVP servers. elsewhere they are totally optional and if you dont know you dont have them you wont care.

Well, this is kind of the wrong forum, but I have to reply.. the Achievement trees are far from crucial.. lots of us played without them, and played in a far rougher environment.  Much of the game has been softened by quite a bit.

You can play to 50 without them, easily.  The game will still be fun, you won't find anything made impossible by lack of APs.  At 50, you can decide how far you want to go, and by then hopefully a little descretionary income will become available.

We all started behind on APs if we were veterans.  It doesnt take long to catch up, with the AP expansions come new territorys, new quests, it wont take long to get points.

Dont lose heart over it, there is a lot of game to play without the expansions.. and you do get some freebies.. Adorn recipes for your regular tradeskills, armor and equipment from the expansions on the broker, cloaks, you are getting more game than those of us that played the original level 50 game SMILEY

One thing.. if you think eventually you may buy the expansions with Achievement trees.. hold off turning in your collections.  By not turning them in you can essentially "bank" that Achievement Exp.

Its a fun and rewarding game with or without achievments.  I didnt buy DoF or KoS till I needed them to level further.
