I wish I had wrote down my max on Ice Nova (adept 3), but I know it was right around 10k.  After logging on after GU36, I now have a range of 4429-8170 (without any AA changes).  That is almost 2K (2 zero zero zero) loss in damage.  My Adept 3 Fusion is now 6047-10064.  All with 560 INT ... I hope SOE has some pure [Removed for Content] magic coming out of RoK for wizards as I'm completely fed up with the present state of mages. (Sadly, that's about the ONLY thing I have against EQ2 right now) Just the facts,  - Frostwynn

I already put up in another post, I'm just not seeing this myself.  Is there any circumstance that's changed.. different classes you're teammed with, or anything more mundane, that's being overlooked perhaps? Though you aren't the only one complaining about this, perhaps the data is worth a second look see.

Kay, no, this is plain and simple solo 2K loss stemming from the WIS AA line changes.  (basically Brainstorm, which I had 8 points in it).  You wouldn't see that change if you don't have Brainstorm. Saw someone else already started this thread, so redirecting this on to it at: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=368903 End of Line ...

Hmm, something smells funny here... Brainstorm was changed to 4% from 8%, a 4% loss. 2,000 damage (damage change) divided by 0.04 (buff reduction) => 50,000 spell damage. You had an ice nova spell that was doing 50,000 damage? I don't think so! Someone else can work different numbers if my assumptions are off -Leucippus

Unfortunately played my illusionist last night, but they might have messed up the coding change since they were nerfing both ice nova and fusion for PvP, as of right now it is the only thing I can think of that would cause that big of a lose of damage.

UUCyberSteve is a [Removed for Content]. Nobody lost 2,000dmg from their Ice Nova. The loss is more around 400. If you've read any of his other posts, you'll notice that he overexaggerates and blows topics out of proportion.

Woah there pilgram!  If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong and just show the correct details.  No need for name calling!  Maybe I was buffed when IN was around 10k, dunno ... I stated I didn't write it down.   In either case, the loss is a loss and I don't like it and I will continue to speak my mind.  Just like everyone else here, I have every right to make those statements, over exaggerated or not.   Leave those personal adjectives out next time or I'll report it.  I have too much passion for wanting a reasonably better, balanced, raid Wizard that doesn't die when an epic sneezes ... End of Line

They had mentioned in either one of the podcast or an interview that they were nerfing all tier1 damage classes to make fights last longer.  I'm not against this myself.  What I am against is only targeting tier1 classes (i.e. wizards, rangers, warlocks, assassins, etc...).  We have very little utility ability and to simply nerf us thus bringing tier 2 classes closer to the same amount of damage as us only hurts our position for raids and groups.  "Why give a dps slot to a tier 1 when we could invite a tier 2, have the same dps and extra utility spells to boot?"  I really hope the devs look at their changes and make this a change across the board for all classes.  I actually enjoy fights lasting longer myself.  Especially on my necro as in a good group doing instances she wouldn't have enough time to let your spells generate the high dps she is truly capable of doing =).

Yes and no.. he is claiming the base dmg which is about a 400 loss (max). A freehand nova is now about 1k less though (max). After debuffs thats about 1.5k less.. and if it were to crit that pushes it up to about 2k less (max).

My M1 nova was a pinch over 10K pre-36 with 750 INT and 8 points in brainstorm.

My M1 Nova is a pinch over 10K post-36 with 780 INT and 8 points in brainstorm.

TBH, I'm not sure how you were getting 10K from an A3.
