I think it would great to have a world event to build (or rebuild, or fix, or whatever) the spires so you could travel directly from Greater Faydark to Tenebrous Tangle (or one of the other KoS zones).  As it is I have to run through GFay, run across Butcherblock, wait for the boat, catch the boat, then run halfway across Norrath depending on which spires I want to go to, and then wait for the spire!  Takes so long!

The only KoS style spire is in loping iirc, this would make more sense to rebuild rather than the gfay one which is of a very different style.

The spire in Greater Faydark was a major spire back in EQlive. So it would fit for the KoS as well.

Loping Plains wasn't in EQlive, it will become avaiable this year I think with their next expansion for EQlive.

If I could get to EoF without having to use the boat, Then I may actually start going there again.

Notice that there's also no bell access from Kelethin.  This is by design so don't get your hopes up.  SOE wants to CLAIM that they have new starting cities, but they throw in bitter pills so that people will actually stay in the 2 main cities.  Neriak has no direct access to TT either.  But at least you can buy tickets to the TS and Nek spires.

The lack of travel from the new cities is a big issue in PvP since you're putting yourself at risk unnecessarily since Qeynos and Freeport residents have all the traveling conveniences.

SOE does have new starting cities and it takes less than 5 minutes to get from Nek/TS spires.  I can leave my Neriak home and be standing in TS in less than 90 seconds.  I can't say that in Qeynos because it takes me that long just to get from SQ to QH.

I don't see it as a PvP issue at all.  You play on a PvP server to PvP so there you go.

The spires in GFay are Combine spires, which would take you to Luclin.  As there aren't any nice places to go in Luclin any more, they are no longer operational.

The KoS spires are different.  I believe there are some broken ones in Loping Plains, but none in GFay.  In order to keep the lore consistent, new ones would have to be made or the ones in LP repaired.

If yall get spires to KOS in EOF... I demand to have  teleport from Antonica to the loping plains, lesser faydark, and new tunaria! Each area has its own level 70 content... and if you want to experience the other one's areas... then you are going to have to walk for it.

Exactly!!!  I would love to do a world event... hasn't been one since I started playing SMILEY

And Josgar, I do walk it very often!  Just think if the spire is there, it would be cool to have an event to reactivate it!!  and if it was reactivated, it would go both ways... you also could use the spires to pop up to KoS and back down to wherever...

That would make travel SHORTER >.> It needs to be LONGER But like I said... if EOF gets a KOS portal... then Qeynos and Freeport need a portal to the t6 and t7 zones of faydwer...

Josgar, I am curious, why do you want travel to be longer?  I personally don't really enjoy running for 20 minutes along the exact same route I have run previously before I can start playing!

Now that Neriak is live, I will always start new evil characters there. Isle of the Overlord & Freeport are for chumps.

You can!  It amazes me how many people won't take the 3 seconds to harvest the "Blessed Shrub" at the druid rings.  I hear, "Oh, that shrub?  I don't have time for that!" a lot.  Yet, these are the same people screaming about how long it takes to get from Antonica to Gfay.  After harvesting all the shrubs available, I can go from my door step in SQ to Gfay in about 15 seconds.  Just harvest the shrub already!

You forgot to mention that you have to be a druid for that. Everyone else has to have luck to find a druid willing to open a portal. Not actually one of the easiest tasks.

Agreed Alienor!  I have all the shrubs, and if I have druid handy then it's wonderful!!!  If I don't... then it's time for some running!

Seriously....I am not a druid.  My hubby is, but when he isn't on and I am, a simple, "/OOC Looking for a friendly druid to open a portal to Steamfont!" usually does the trick.  There have got to be more druids in EQ2 than any other class and most of the ones I have come across are very nice and happy to open up a portal.  Of course, you do have to ask.

You can also ask a wizard or warlock (though their component does have a cost) to port you (though it does require them grouping with you for that brief time).

But, of course, asking a druid or wizzy for a portal would require folks to actually interact with other players.....Can't have that kind of none sense in an MMO now, can we? *sarcasm off*

Got to be about lvl 20 to get your splitpaw shard. unlimited ports free to sp/thundering steppes, a kos spire is there in ts.

If you're still 'running to kos' a lvl 50ish zone the splitpaw shard should be easy for you to get.
