I have talked to several people who have also experience this. It seems battle music is getting stuck in a loop that simply does not shut off. Even if your completely out of combat, zone, log to another char ect... the battle music just keeps looping. I sent in a bug report already, but figured I would also post it here.

A quick work around:  turn down combat music, then turn down the master volume all the way (there is a brief delay between turning it down and the music stopping), then turn the master volume back up.  Seems to work for me so I thought I would suggest it.

Happens when you're in an instance. Never had it happen outside an instance. But once you've got it, like you said, it doesn't go away. SMILEY

Its not just instance zones anymore, happened in Enchanted lands last night. Changing volume did not correct problem.

I was on my coercer when it happened and in a fight with a pet and I released pet and destroyed before killing other mob.

Are you guys fighting with pets when it happens, or grouped with a pet class?

BTW love the sig Image

I hate you, and everyone like you that plays this game. Please spend less time whining and more time winning, it contributes to the general growth of the game and makes gameplay more enjoyable for all.

It happens with my Brigand, Fury, Necro, Templar, Beserker..you get the ideaSMILEY I have it happen in instances and outside zones. It can happen while i'm zoning while in combat or in just plain combat.

had it happen again last night. The only way I can get rid of it is by completly restarting eq2. It doesn't even work if I shift characters. I go to turn down combat music, and it has no effect. Only way to turn it down is master volume, which then of course shuts off every other sound.

I got it several times over the weekend.. it is annoying,...  but I found changing the MASTER volume down to zero and back up seemed to fix it every time for me.

Had it happen last night with combat music, messed around with volume settings, did nadda. Had it happen this morning in Gfay (the Kelethin theme remix was looping this time, not combat).

I have tried that, doesn't seem to work for me. If it happens again, i'll give it one more go.

Since the hotfix Saturday, I've managed to fix this by just targetting myself, attacking a few seconds, then turning attack off.
