Why isnt it possible to interact with Furniture?  I mean seriously...  I have a chair in my house... I want to sit in it.  There is a bed, I want to lay on it.  It is high time to be able to do this stuff.

Anyone else agree?

PS.  There is another well known game out that lets you interact with chairs, but doesn't have player housing.  It would be great if some company could do both.  I know, its crazy.

Agreed, this has been a long gride alot of players have had for a while.  I thought at one time someone at a Fan Faire mentioned it and think it was considered, maybe it will be in a future update, once all the classes are balanced and the game works right SMILEY   Don't hold your breath   /giggles

Actually, SOE already administers a game that has both housing AND interactive furniture - Star Wars Galaxies.  From what I have read on the boards here, the major issue with interactive furniture in EQ2 is the disparity between the sizes of races in the game.  However, in SWG, there is a small race (Bothan) who can interact with furniture just fine.  Now, when Bothans sit, though, they are roughly the same size as other player characters who are sitting (i.e. Wookiees)...but then when the Bothan stands, they're about half the size of most of the other races.

I can see why having an ogre and a halfling, say, be the same size when seated would look INCREDIBLY SILLY...but I'd still like to see interactive furniture of some sort.  If we can't sit in our chairs and lay in our beds, at least give us gaming tables or *something* that we can interact with in our homes.  I would love to see housing have some usefulness beyond being a "trophy room" for all my crap. SMILEY

Be a monk or tinker and feign death while standing on your bed.

Housing is pointless in this game, that is why the Dev's don't throw much time into it.

Housing is one of the great things in this game. It adds so much to the game. Not only to have a real place of your own, but also to decorate it. Get the furniture on every way that is possible. Housing makes a game complete. That is why I loved UO and SWG so much. And I missed housing very much in Lineage II (clan halls there I don't consider housing). Femke.

I don't think the different sizes would be a big problem. There are furniture pieces in the game that is designed for different classes. For example, I think there's something called Gnomish chairs. If an ogre would come to a gnome's home, it would only add flavour to the game when he can't sit comfortably in the gnome's chairs. And of course the gnome would not reach the floor w his legs when siting in a chair at the ogre's home. That would be nice from a roleplaying perspective too.

Lol, I agree with you there.  I don't know, SWG was my first MMO and so I thought interacting with furniture was pretty standard stuff.  I was surprised to see EQ2 didn't have it.  I know interacting with furniture is useless fluff, but, looking back in games that did have it, I am surprised out how often I and others used it.

Some may consider things like this "useless", but as long it is great fun.... Having fun is far from useless for me. Heck, it is one of the main reasons I play this game SMILEY Femke.
