What is the purpose of the Guild Status Merchant?

I met a Guild Status Merchant while visiting Neriak. He was with the Guild Registrar, Cloak Designer and City Merchant. Is the Guild Status Merchant new or did they arrive in a previous update and I managed to miss it? And what is the role of this NPC?

Heh, that's where you turn in those Relics, Docs, Amulets and Scry Stones. I'm glad to see they're all in one. SMILEY

Yes, if you have faction in MajDul you have a faction merchant there that will also take all the status items from you, I love that aspect of my faction house in MajDul. Heck, I use the Call of Ro to go to MajDul just for that purpose sometimes. SMILEY

Mm-hmm. They decided to take out the tediousness of going from one Neriak group to another, and placed a Guild Status Merchant that takes all the status items in one place. Pretty neat, huh.

Oh cool. I didn't know this. Is this merchant anywhere else besides Neriak? Somewhere in Qeynos, for example?

This would be an nice feature to have in all the main cities? I wonder if they placed one in Qeynos anywhere. I'm going to have to go see if I can find one.

Planning on moving my Necro, Shadowknight, and Assassin there for that reason, and for the reason its a really well done expansion.

Sounds to me like a temporary bandaid since the archetype factions aren't in game. Theres only one faction, City of Neriak, right now.

Only other I've seen is in the Courts of the Maj'Dul factions. Could be wrong though. Wouldn't think Qeynos or Freeport would have them.
