best race for monk(stat wise)

Im looking to find out what the best race for monk is stat wise.

So far i gathered that ogre is a good monk but i need to find out about other races.

can anybody lend any info?

After level 20 or so, race wont matter particlary much. But tbh, human and barbarian have a 5 defence racial trait, that is pretty much the only two races that has anything for tanking. SMILEY

As the previous poster stated, race doesn't mean much. However if you plan to DPS, the smaller races (ratonga, gnome, etc) usually has a racial de-agro. That helps with keeping you not pulling the mob off the tank on occasion. Not a whole lot but every little bit helps.

If you are going strickly stat wise then Kerans are best. If you include racial traditions too then maybe wood elf because they have Wind Warrior which gives them +2 def and +2 perry.

Halfling get the 2 parry and 2 def too, but they don't look as good in a gi and in all honesty THAT is the main deciding factor for race with a monk. Will the race look good in a gi?
