With my lvl 63 fury, I have a hard time being a main healer. I'm just wondering if anyone had tried to get the str line, up to the point were you heal group members with a successful melee attack? It seems to me that would be a fairly useful ability to have, free heals. Anyone tried it?

every little bit helps, but if you can't keep up with heals this one is not going to solve your problem, it's good for long fights when you are running oop, but far from fantastic and very unreliable as far as short encounters are concern

if you are only doing this to improve healing I would spent these points in agi, for the same amount of points you get a good upgrade to your single target HoT (it starts ticking every 1.5s and recast is still short enough to keep it up 100% of time), 2 abilities on the way there are almost useles but HoT boost is really nice IMHO (note: it upgrades both single an group one but due to recast timer it doesn't really help group one)

on a different note, being 63 you should have no problems mainhealing you already have all key spells (BitF, hibernation) perhaps you are still getting used to them? and standard question: are all your heals ad3+ ?

If you feel you are having problem being healer, also take a look at what Gear does the tank have...does he have good resist etc. Anyone will struggle if the tank is crap geared.

And...ofc what lvl is the mobs hitting him. Im lvl 70 and i dont fnid it hard being only healer. Everything is Adept 3 or Master 1-2. But ofc...if you go into zones like Mistmoore Castle then no wonder its hard...ive done it alone, but had a wonderful group that knew what they were doing.

So dont judge yourself to early.... Ive been in Mistmoore with and extra healer ( mystic ) and we couldnt even keep the tank up past the pianist...he went down like nothing. Then i left group after a few tries....and went afk...and when i came back i saw him still there..but with another group. I asked how they were doing ( asked a healer ) and he said the tank cant take it...they too had 2 healers...and didnt make it past pianist. So the tank was the problem...NOT the healers.

Ofc i knwo that you arent in Mistmoore yet...but im only tryign to say that if you have atleast adept 3 heals...and knows your class..then you sholdnt have to struggle to much. Check the tanks gear !

Wish you good luck !

I do ok as a main healer when everything is going fine. But, once we get named guys with 2 or 3 adds, I just cannot keep up with the damage. My heals are adept3, with my main hot being master2.

what happens?

- you can't keep up with initial damage? if so try casting hibernation before pull (assuming it's short range pull) and cast group HoT when tank is running back to you (if you time it right tank should hit ae taunt before you finish casting) follow by single HoT and whatever is nessesary

- you can't keep up with damage spikes or aes? if so try to keep hibernation up most of the time and group HoT in addition to single one, fill in with BitF if nessesary

- you running oop? (other than obviouslike: hit manastone/shard/heart as soon as power drop before 100%) try to use (in order of efficiecy):

- single HoT - single HoT + wild salve (or BitF if tank is low) - single HoT + wild salve + BitF - single HoT + group HoT + wild salve (or BitF if tank is low) - single HoT + group HoT + wild salve + BitF

use Hibernation as a fill-in to anticipate some damage (hibernation is very efficient group heal) don't forget Feast line on multi mob encounters

and above all don't forget about cures, there is no golden rule when to cure and when not but if you are fighting in the area you will learn sooner or later which effects are temporary and which need urgent cures

I use the STR line and have quite a few points in it (4/4/7/8/1 IIRC), but my situation may not be normal for group playing. I two-box with my Bruiser and also have Animal Form on my EoF side. Animal form gives you some great melee buffs and de-agro but stifles you.  Paired with the STR AA line, you can inflict some serious damage, have a chance to heal your group, lower hate, and siphon power faster than any other class in the game. I can usually go from zero power to 100% on a single heroic mob (or two if there are more than 2 of us), long before Animal Form expires.  Now if your tank is getting pummeled, and there is no secondary healer, and you are in a zone like Unrest, this probably wont work - the heal procs off of Natural Boon won't be enough to keep him up, even with Animal Form on.  The heal procs are just a great bonus (448 for me on each proc, I think) However, if you are fighting lots of blue trash and dont want to take a break, this combo will be nice.  In order to get maximum power siphoning though, get a quick 1H staff or hammer.  I also use a macro to use Nature Blade with a 1H sword before I begin this as well for the extra attack speed, but I want to say you are close to max on Attack Speed anyways. So, its situational.   If you find yourself staying back and not wanting to get into range, the STR line isn't worth it, and the AGI line would be better suited. agressiv
