I am a level 62 ranger that duos with a paladin about 90% of the time, and I need some advice on how to continue with my AAs. First off, I just finished off my AGI and INT  predator lines (4, 6, 4, 8, plus the final ability in both) - 49 points total.  In my ranger tree, I have 3 in Survival Instincts and 5 in Pathfinding (yeah, poor choice for a DPS class, but I am totally hooked on speed).  I plan on taking Focus Aim as my level 64 Master II.  Here is my plan for my ranger AAs: - 3 Survival Instinct (have now), 5 Pathfinding (have now), 5 Steady Aim - 5 Double Shot, 5 Triple Shot, 5 Pounce, 5 Storm of Arrows, 1 Double Arrow - 5 Caustic, 5 Fettering, 5 Ancillary, 1 Conservation Also, instead of working on Conservation, I am considering getting Extension instead: - 5 Caustic, finish up 2 points on Survival (5 total), 5 Honed, 3 Feral, 1 Extension Does this seem like a good plan?  Am I better off with my Conservation or Extension plan?  Also, where should I start first - Steady Aim now or should I start working my way to Double Arrow right away?  Or, should I grab Enhanced: Caustic Poison first? Thanks

Right on! I would like to say. =P I have 5 pathfinding too. If you aren't a hardcore raider than pathfinding is awesome. I'm in groups all the time with people who are like "HOLY CRAP! 46%!?" and I'm like "Yeah, I rule." Seriously back to your question. I, personally, am not finishing off the poison line. I'm doing 5 poison and then I might put the rest into honed reflexes and killing instincts. I use those ALL the time. Not sure though. I have 5 in escape too. Which also comes in handy a lot in groups.

OK to let you know you can still have PF and be a hardcore raiderSMILEY. They are just the last 5 points I took that is all. This is what I have. 100AAs Agi and Int - final in both - total of 50 5 caustic 3 survival, 5 honed, 5 killing, 5 focus, Extension 5 precise, 5 triple, 5 rain, 5 other AoE, Double Attack 5 PF or 5 in Snaring ShotSMILEY Total  50 So you can have your cake and eat it too. just as a self respecting DPS class I chose PF as my last 5 points.

Since I already have 3 survival, 5 pathfinding, where do you suggest I start next?  I'm assuming that getting Focus to 5 before I hit level 64  (Focus Aim will be my Master II) is the best choice, or am I better off getting Double Shot ASAP?

You can't have 2 x Final Abilities in the Predator tree... Can you ? I think that unless your on a PvP server, putting points in Pathfinding is a waste.

1) Yes, you can. 2) Why is it a waste?

I agree that Pathfinding scores a 0 on the 'DPS scale', but for me it scores a 10 on the 'fun scale'.  Since I wouldn't play my ranger, or even this game, if I wasn't having fun, I think I can argue that Pathfinding is responsible for all of my DPS SMILEY

Yeah, I am a raider too and I LOVE my pathfinding.   I give up a bit of dps on snaring shot, but I think it is worth it.

I would go double shot first. Every point in that line spent will upgrade your DPS. It makes precise and triple almost worth itSMILEY. It is great for rain and selection as well. And to the other poster, the last 5 points in PF is not a waste. What else would you put them in besides snaring that would affect your DPS. And even putting them in snaring could be considered a waste b/c using snaring will actually lower your overall DPS in raids.
