Just got this AA ability last night. Think its a 3% bonus to a group members trigger chance on spells. I'm at work so tough to remember. Who are the best classes to throw this buff on? Always the tank? Some sort of poisen user? Warlock, necro?  Just wondering who would see the most benefit of this buff during a normal group instance run..not really raiding.

If i have a dirge, they usually get it for stoneskin.  if its just a hodge podge pickup group, I usually keep it myself

I'll often do the same as Denna.

I've been known to put it on a berserker for more berserk proccing or my dog for more ward/immunity procing esp if I'm solo healing.

I used the same logic and put ancestry on the dog for more ward procs ... until a mystic friend told me putting it on myself affected the dog buffs.  So I tried it and sure enough if I cast ancestry on myself the percentages on the dog buffs went up too. I hadn't thought about the dirge for stoneskin.  Keep the suggested classes coming with reasons why!!!  It'll help me make better decisions for where to put the buff in various groups.

when I first got ancestry, i put it on dog, and it DOES NOT affect his proc rate.  If i cast it on myself, it affects DOg, and mine.  I solo PvP alot and have it up all the time.  With Tunic of Shadowed Songs and Signet of Light from Darkness, and Ancestry on, most scouts will just kill themselves...  i just have to keep myself alive.

another useful trick is to cast it on a templar, and let them distribute Glory of Combat.  then you can take it off them.  It still has the extra 3% proc chance.

I am not sure if casting Ancestry on yourself truly increases DogDog's proc rate. I think if you cast Ancestry on yourself everything you examine will show with the +3% proc rate.

The way I understand it, it's been changed since EOF was originally released, and doesn't affect buffs from other players on the target. But it used to. So originally, you could cast it on the pet and see an increase in the proc rate, even though the buffs are your own maintained buffs. Now, it sort of works the opposite way. Anything the target casts will be affected, even if it's on something else. Hence, it works on the dog if you cast it on yourself.

Not 100% sure on this but my guess is that is a display bug. Some buff icons don't update certain information once they have already been cast.
