Three toons, a level 6 fury, level 11 Pally, and a level 17 Wizard wanting to group last night. The Wizard was able to Mentor down to level 6 but the Paladin couldn't mentor nor could the Wizard mentor to the Paladin's level. It was grayed out. We were all standing next to each other and we weren't in combat.

Any idea's as to the reason we couldn't mentor?

The pally had their XP set to disabled.     If I recall when this is set then you cannot mentor that player.

I thought you had to be level 10 or higher to be mentored. Has that changed?

I just guessing you guys were in the PvE server, I can only say on behalf of PvP server. Any level over 70 can mentor down als low as 10.  10 because PvP begins at ten so hier level players cannot cross the level 10 border.  Multiple players can mentor a single player.  But thats in PvP, just in case you were all grouped?

I don't know how much of a difference mentoring is on PvE vs PvP.  Im sure there will be someone that can clear this up for you.

Yeah that can be a very valid reason why that happened

No... The pally was getting exp.  We just left it with the wizard mentored down to the fury's level and the pally was in group unmentored.

It was changed fairly recently that you can be mentored while retaining your ComExp disabled status
