It's important to note, that while you can create, edit, delete and clone lists, you cannot delete scribed recipe books from your recipe list.

I have multiple lists saved in my recipe book, I have one for Carpentry, I have one for Cooking, I have lists set up by work station, I have categories for Frostfell recipes, Adornments and it goes on. Each list you make is available to any of your characters (it will auto filter appropriately for knowledge they dont have - you cant see what you dont know) but you should always make the list while logged onto the character it pertains to so you have all the necessary books in your recipe book.

I cant describe the steps I use to do this without being in the game so I'm gonna pull it up quick so I can give you an example. It's really easy though. (Ill try to add screenshots later but I dont have time right now).

When you first open your recipe book up you see the 'search' box, the 'filter' drop down and the 'find' and 'edit' boxes. The 'filter' box will say "unfiltered".

Click the 'edit' box, this will take you to the window that shows various categories you can edit: Level, Technique, Knowledge and Recipe Book. The filter box at the top says "default" and next to it there is a 'delete' and a 'clone' button.

Now, I am a carpenter so I'm going to make a carpenter list.

Where it says default, I'll type in "Advanced Carpenter Recipes" because I want this list to show only advanced furniture recipes.

All of my recipes use the sculpting technique (if you dont know what technique you use examine one of your recipes and it will tell you the technique name) so I'm going to click the sculpting entry. At this point I can click "OK" at the bottom of the window and it will save my new list. and whenever I bring select it from the Filter drop-down box it up it will show me every single recipe I have that uses sculpting. By choosing sculpting I filter out anything that uses artistry, Chemistry, Tailoring etc...

BUT

I want this list to only show advanced recipes and by choosing only sculpting the list will show me ALL of my furniture recipes... so... I need to scroll the main scroll bar down till it shows the window for Recipe Book. This is why choosing a Technique is important, because if I didn't, in selecting these books the list would show every single recipe in the book whether it is a carpenter recipe or not (this is neccessary if the list includes books under lvl 20 recipes).

Click on one book and then click on another in that window and you'll notice you can only select one at a time. But there's a trick to that.

If you find it easier, you can just hold the control key while clicking on the entries to highlight them individually. Scroll the window down as often as needed until you've gotten all the entries you want selected.

OR

Holding the shift key I am going to click on Advanced Artisan 2 and still holding the shift key I am going to click on Advanced Artisan 9 - if I did it right, all 8 should be highlighted. But there's still more advanced books to put in!

*CAUTION* DO NOT click any entry in that window without holding the shift or better yet the control key. Or it will de-select all those books and highlight only the one you have just clicked.

Now I'll scroll the recipe window down until it shows more advanced books (if you're a lvl 20+ crafter you'll have to do this for your final artisan class and the previous class (in my case it's craftsman and carpenter). Holding the control key I click the first "Advanced Craftsman Volume" listed then I release the control key and hold the shift key and click the last "Advanced Craftsman Volume" listed. Make sure all or most of them are visible in the window to save time, but if they dont all fit in the window, after control+clicking the first one just scroll the window until it shows the last one and shift+click. All of them are now highlighted and if I scoll up to the top of the Recipe Book window I'll see that the advanced artisan books are still highlighted.

Repeat as often as neccessary.

Once you are finished highlighting all the books you want to show up in the list click 'OK'

You're done and can now use your new list.

I could get more detailed though in creating lists. If I wanted to I could filter my lists by technique and workstation (more useful for carpenters who use multiple stations) and it will only show me recipes using the selected technique and are made on the specified workstation.

Deleting a list

To delete a list you no longer want is very easy, open your recipe book choose the list you want to delete from the dropdown box, click Edit and you'll be back in the edit window, click Delete next to the Clone button at the top and your list is no more.

Cloning a List

Why would you want to clone a list? Well if you have a list but want to have another like it that has some extra specifications this might be useful in certain situations so you might want to, since it can potentially save you time in having to re-select everything as you can just change what you need to and click OK to save your new list.

When cloning a list you need to select the list from the dropdown, click Edit then click Clone once you are in the edit window. You wont know anything has happened because the window wont change in anyway except that you'll now be looking at the cloned list. Rename your list so you know which list is which because the name will stay the same if you dont. You can click OK or continue in the edit window and make your changes. Just make sure you do click OK if you make ANY changes including changing the list name. You dont need to worry about hitting OK immediately after you clone the original list because whether you click OK or Cancel, the list is already made.

I hope this has been useful and that you've just learned the basics of using the edit feature in your recipe book. If you have any tips or tricks to add go for it!

If you have any questions, ask away. I'll try to add in screenshots later for those who - like me- understand through seeing better. (Or does it not need them?)

Hopefully the color is easier to read, sorry.

Could you please use a more readable colour? Purple on black is not good.

Ummmm highlight it? If that's too much trouble, then guess you really didn't think it was worth the effort. Your loss.

Nope, scribed recipes cannot be removed from your recipe book. The Frostfell recipes, however, may be useless now, but will be making a return next Frostfell.
