I'd like to know if it's just me having this problem...

Had some stats running on last nights trip to Inner Sanctum. During the course of one fight, I auto attacked 91 times. Out of those, 20 attacks missed. Not blocked, parried, deflected... Missed outright.

And it wasn't just the named, or only for one fight. I've been noticing this a lot lately. Ranged attack seems to miss far more than melee. Is this just me?

Bit of information so you can judge. I don't tend to have a Dirge or Warden in my group - they're in with the MT so I can't get the benefit of their combat skill buffs. I do have a Paladin for the most part, but the Knights skill doesn't buff ranged (though he doesn't have it anyway). Ranged skill generally sits at about 408 ish. I have Master I offensive stance. I have Sarnak warbow. I have Ichorstrand ammo. I'm just about fully fabled, with the exception of some legendary jewellery. I've got Double Attack AA, but not Extension yet.

So why is it, that I can't hit a cows [Removed for Content] with a banjo? :/

I haven't noticed a drop in my to hit ratio on auto attack, it's always around the 77~82% mark depending on the zone we do that night. Have similar stats to you (m1 offensive 410 range, bazkul - T8 ammo, also no dirge or warden lovins SMILEY ). MMIS does have a lot of orange con nameds and they always destroy my to hit ratio, Chel on sunday I had 66% I think. That sucked.

I had this problem in MiS as well. I miss a ton in there. My range was at 402 when i was in there last time now. I grab the ring of retenkinatar (sp) which has +7 ranged last night. We are going back on Sunday so I will let you know how it goes. But, yes, I am missing a ton in EoF raids. There is not much that buffs range either which sucks. They do not have one single adornment that is + ranged and not one dev has said it is an oversight.

There are a lot of "monkish" mobs in there.

Unfortunately, this is one of those difficult things to pin down.  For example, would you be better off with a warden (for +ranged) or a fury (for + Int)?  How about a warden vs. Inquisitor?  Now I know what the reflex answer says.  But with large miss rates, sometimes what seems obvious may not be so clear.

Of course, +range gear helps.  Unfortunately, a lot of EoF ranger gear doesn't have +range stats.

But I do have a "secret" solution.  Remember that HO we have....hmmmm.  I actually make a point of getting Swindler's Luck now for all EoF epic encounters...much more than I did in KoS.

Well I did Freethinkers last night, and since we had two Wardens online I grabbed one of them and got them to put their skill buff on me. I rarely missed a thing.

Course, that does mean that you need a ranged skill of about 480 to hit a barn door. /sigh

I'm not an uber raiding ranger as those that have posted.. I don't have all the greatest of stuff, no T8 ammo and only Raincaller as my primary weapon.  but I found I rarely miss in the EoF zones.  I do have a couple of +ranged Items though.. Helm i think gives +ranged, the +7 ranged ring, something else adds to ranged can't remember off top of my head.  And I use my Focus Aim like it's candy, 15sec of high dps / haste / ranged works wonders.  Then again it could just be the groups I'm in.  I'm usually in a good DPS group, sometimes Dirge sometimes not.. but usually have a druid in group that gives me combat buff and if possible Int buff as well.  I also make sure to always have a zerker in my group as well, Can't remember what if any combat buffs they give aside from Regen and Str (i love +122str!).  And on occasion our Troub will hit me with Jcap on nameds not only for Sniper Shot but also for the three Temp Buffs (Focus Aim, Honed Reflexes, Killing Instinct). Makes for insane crazy DPS and hit rate SMILEY I too have M1 Offensive Stance, as well as M1 Focus Aim / Killing Instinct / Corner and M2 Devitalizing Arrow.  Which I always make sure Corner and Vines are on my target at all times as well as Mortal Reminder and I try to use D.Arrow before any big CA such as Veiled Fire, Tripple Volley and Sniper Shot.. that extra hit to their defense abilities for a short time makes criting with big hits easier it seems.

Corner? You mean Cover Fire? BTW I have the Extension AA and haven't really noticed any improvement in my auto attack to hit ratio however my CA's almost never miss (98%ish).
