Heya, first post here, so go easy on me please SMILEY
Just lead and tanked a raid on Runnyeye trying to kill Haraghaur the Deathless.
To cut a long story short, we got totalled 5 times in a row and everytime he cast an AoE half of group 2 died. He was spamming elemental AoEs every few seconds and to be honest, it seemed like we were trying to fight a pre-nerf mob.

Is he really supposed to be this tough? I had 63.5% heat resist and was getting aoe'd from 900 to 2.4 k damage a shot. We got him down to 60% ish a few times but we just kept on wiping because all our dps were dead and our 3 healers were either dead by then or couldn't keep them up
If he is supposed to be this tough, then what kind of setup should I looking to gather to kill him please?

Yours,

Um,

Have sort of main tanked labs in the past,  do know what max range and group setups is for. Group 2 still died...lots

Maybe more resists would have been nice

Half of group two dying from a 900 to 2.4k damage AOE...Well, taking people higher than level 10 could help.

Taking a raid with low resists against Haraghaur is like taking a raid into MoA4 with low resists.

Ask Kenman about that one. SMILEY

Anyways hes right, its rather easy if everyone is prepared. If your lacking in fabled gear for a good base of resists, a full set of topaz jewelry is a small price to pay and will do just fine.

Cures ftw also, 90% of healers seem to think they are trivial, below their notice or simply don't pay attention to them. I know, it's what made my Templar uber from T5 on and what makes me boot non-curing healer applicants to our guild =)

Sounds to me that the issue was you had a bunch of people who don't know how to raid.  He is very easy to beat, even for those who don't raid often.I think he's a good stepping stone fight for the Claymore line, because if you can't get past him, you don't stand a chance getting DT acces, or even completing DT.

Be sure to pull all the little gazers around him and kill them prior to engaging the named. Makes the encounter much easier.

It was never 6-day spawn, it was always a weak 36 hour spawn.

we started camping him 30 hours after he was killed last.....53 hours later he popped....so ya mebe not 6days....but not 36 hrs either.

Think it was a day or 2 later they changed the timer on him.

Tbh ....im glad they got rid of that stupid spawn time.....but I think he should be harder than he is to kill

Oh man you MT'd labs before?  You must know everything about raiding.  Can you please share your wealth of knowledge with everyone else?

Or maybe you should listen to the people who know enough about raiding to the point where even mentioning labs makes you look like a running joke

the named for claymore in BM?

we did it with pickup raid without any issues, actually I was suprised I hardly notice we are doing epic...

with this setup (not perfect but ok for it)

g1: dirge,assasin,inq,warden,conj,sk

g2: 2 druids, necro and 2 more dps (I couldn't find 12th person to fill last slot)

we cleared gazers just in case since I wasn't sure if they add or not, and we could chat during fight it was that easy

His big AE is frontal, have your tank turn him away from the raid.  Have a fury/warden in each grp, to grp cure the elemental.  Should go pretty smooth from there, even if everyone has poor resists.  From the sound of it, you might have got a bugged version.  I know he AEs pretty hard, but you sound like he was AEing every few seconds, which is wrong. As to the non-curing healers.  I have actually been asked (in T7) what the little colored crosses under my name were by a healer.  So yes, non-curing healers do exist.

Heya again,

Just a finishing off post to say we got him. Sort of ignored this post for a few days because it was obvious the trolls were coming out to flame and generally be useless. I can't be bothered with them, but feel free to act the way you trolls do in the rest of the post, because I don't care.

Thanks to everyone who actually did try to post sensible replies SMILEY

This time we totally crushed him, didn't take a single death and didn't seem to be hit by a single AoE in either group. It was like fighting a totally different encounter named: - in fact if it hadn't been for the mob name and the fact we got our updates I would have said it was a different mob

P.S.

Easiest way we found to kill him was to kil the cactoxic stain in the poool at the bottom of the path, then pull him down the path, main tank in the rocks with all the dps standing off and nuking, while the casters healed and the tanks tanked

That way we got zero respawns in either the fight we won easily or the fight where he was chaining AoEs where we got slaughtered

We really struggled until we dragged a Brigand with us and it was ridiculously easy after that.
