For those currently working on Heritage quests, here are the specifics on the changes.  We want these quests to retain challenge but also want them to be more fun.  Please let us know any feedback you have as you work on the quests and encounter these changes.  Please DO NOT repost this information on the forums or anywhere else.  These specifics are for the players of Test server to give us informed feedback.

Thanks guys SMILEY

they sound great so far. One question though. will the BBC quest still require an ebon cluster?

Remembering what they were like, definitely a big thumbs-up on the PGT and Lightstone changes.  Maybe I will do them with my alt, after all. Also, my main is up to Goorlux in SSOY right now -- those changes sound good.  I'll try to go after him today or tomorrow and leave feedback. Thanks!

Some big improvements there, very nice. I ended up hateing that screaming mace quest because of the named lizards and key update we camped forever. (%5 percent for 4 named! ick) Quest should ahve been fun with the instance and all. Sounds like it will be again.

Ok, we tried this one last night.  Group of 5 of us, killed the Majestic Griffon ph. And waited...and waited...then killed another Majestic when he popped...and waited.  Then started killing mightys for exp....Another Majestic popped, killed it.  Then killed mightys and griffons while waiting for the 15 minute respawn on the Majestic.

Result, an hour and a half of exp'ing.  Server finally went down at 9:15pm

I dont see the improvement here

I've done this one a couple of times, but not recently. The last time, I think we only had to clear Mighty Griffons 3-4 times to get BlootTallon to spawn.

I'm also not sure if this HQ is different from others (multiple PHs versus single ones) but the change from 4 phs to 1 is a large reduction in odds that needs to be taken into consideration.

The greenblood bouncers (new place holders for the stein heritage bouncers in Feerott) spend most their time on top of trees and other structures. It looks very strange.

Shiny Brass Halberd

Captain T’Sanne’s event has been moved to OOP files and made to reset in 30 minutes after T’Sanne is defeated.

- Now i'm not really sure what OOP files are... but last night we had 3 characters upto this stepin the quest and it appeared the event was there and just needed to be triggered (non targetable mobs up)

But nothing would seem to start the event, it appears non functional

Thanks for the note, I was able to fix the problem with them not being able to be attacked.  Try it again if you can when you see the change mentioned in the Test server update notes. SMILEY

Was this indicating what has been changed or was it a note about what might change? THe way its worded sounds kinda like its a maybe will happen change. In any case we spent some time out there tonight working to get Bloodtalon to spawn. Killed every griffon in the area, includin ght majestic which kept spawning. Majestic seemed to be the PHer since there was always only one, but we must have killed it and all the other griffons at least 5 or 6 times, maybe more with no luck on Bloodtalon.

Seemed a lot easier to spawn BloodTalon in the past than under this new system. We were at it for quite a while this evening to no avail. Also, I would like to point out, that when every mighty griff was a PH, you felt like you were always getting a bit closer to spawning him with every kill... Now it is just depression when you see yet another PH pop,as you know it is yet another 15 minute wait until you see if it is yet another PH.. or possibly BT.

In the past, popping BT was never an issue, we had great fun killing all the griffs and usually within an hour or so he was up. Tonight, it was not fun at all, we killed for longer than normal and still never saw BT.

I liked the old way better.

BT was made a little easier to spawn, from a 1 in 5 chance to a 1 in 4 chance.  It has always been keyed off of one particular spawn, just now that spawn has a unique ph name.  I'll pass on the feedback to the quest's designer, though.

not necessarily.. basically, if you lay a grid on the ground around the griffon area to the giants, it is litterd with dots that represent spawn points.. one of those specific dots has the possibility of spawning 4 or 5 different creatures. It is one of those dots in particular that has always spawned blood talon. usually it spawned mighty griffons, tho now it will have a specific name you can look for, instead of running around ts killing every mighty griffon you see,

On the quest The Lost Legend of Lavastorm Onyxlam in Sol Eye(1 of the final 3 fights needed), is a rare spawn.  I know ppl who have camped it for hours on end and never saw him.  It's the only mob stopping at least 2 of us from completing Crown of King Tranix.  After all the running around, you'd think the final 3-4 mobs wouldn't be a huge camp.  I know the Castigator took us awhile as well.  Like 3 or 4 hours or more.  It's a pretty lengthy quest already without adding the final camps to be 8 or 9 hours between spawns.

I really hate to bump such an old thread but as I have been working on a couple of these I felt the need to comment on one in particular. I have been trying for 3 days now to get the named in everfrost to pop for the eyepatch. I have killed the minos around both firepits about 20 times each for 3 days now with no pop of bloodrage. Its to the point now where someone needs to look and see if his spawn is messed up.  If someone could take a look at this I would greatly appricate it. Thanks

as per the update notes posted Dec 2nd 2005 - The starter item for the Screaming Mace Heritage quest now drops as corpse loot rather than in a chest.

well today agony was killed by a 60 wiz and a 57 warden and did not drop the starter for the screaming mace on te body is this now a random drop or new bug?

It should be in the corpse loot every time.  Looking over the character's data everything looks ok.  If you happen to kill Agony again let me know how if you find the cleric journal on it's corpse.

 Screaming Mace

The four named lizardmen (Hukulan the Despoiler, Kaxor the Cenobite, Xilarga the Champion, and Tzugaax the Torturer) have had their chance to spawn increased from 5% to 20%.

I think there may still be an issue with these spawn timers.  Specifically the Champion.  We have been spending quite a bit of time in CT lately trying to get a group of us throught this quest.  I think there are about 5 possible spawn points for the Champion and I know Hord cleared them 5 times over with no spawn - That puts it back into the 5% range and way off of the 20% range.

Please take a look at the spawn tables for these again.

Thanks,

Rondari

Another note on the SM quest.Same group was going through terrorfiends at a good pace, and ended up giving up after roughly 15 of them failed to give the key update to myself and one other. At a 33% update rate, that has roughly a 0.1% chance of happening (.66^15)- so while it could simply have been a 1/1000 shot of bad luck, it's also possible that it's not updating at the intended rate.
