I got out by camping, but the bugged monkey had an interesting side effect, hehe. First, I couldn't name him Guybrush, which made me sad, so I named my monkey Alastair.  Alastair scampered away from me after I placed him and then promptly disappeared about two feet from my wall, although his target ring remained.  I hit [esc] to clear my target ring, puttered around my house moving some stuff for a minute, checked my mail, and decided to zone out and back in, to see if Alastair reappeared. Well, I went to click on my door and the target came up "Alastair."  I right-clicked on my door and got -- greyed out and non-clickable -- "wake up," "pick up," and whatever the third one is for a sleeping pet.  Hmm.  Oops.  Interestingly, when I clicked on the door, Alastair's target ring appeard -- far back, at the opposite end of the room -- right where I'd last left it. So, yeah.  The monkey locked me in my house.  Also, I wsa surprised to find that the cost of my room (EFP) went up by about 20 silver and 100 status.  The change in status could be because some of my items had their value reduced (I didn't look) but seeing that the room cost more gold per week was unexpected and kind of sad. SMILEY
