Since most of the people that frequent this board tend to know a thing or two about the graphics settigns for teh game... Tommorow i will be placing the order for me new computer (:smileyvery-happy:yay christmas bonus!). It WILL be as follows (because its about all that i can afford at present and i will upgrade as i can. P4 2.8 Dual Core 1gig DDR2 ram 6800GT Just wondering if i will be able to run at Balanced or above with 4xAA and 8xAF (8x is plenty for me, my eye sees no difference between 8x and anything higher). I am a small group/soloer and don't raid ever. I dont expect perfect performance in the cities either. I just wonder if it will run at balanced or higher in your everyday, out and about in Zek/EL, kinda way. An input will be greatly appreciated!

![]() It would be possible if you opt for 2 gigs or ram, that is essential for eq2 and the settings you desire. 1 gig will simply not cut it. Note: Eq2 does not benefit from a duel core cpu currently, so if you are a gamer you are better off with a faster single core CPU. I run an AMD fx-57 OC Good luck and enjoy! |

I run an AMD64 @ 2.8ghz 2 gig of ram, ATI x850 256mb agi(I had a Nvidia 6800gt but my mobo is not compatible and it had some graphics glitches, nothing major, just annoying rendering issues with shadows and lighting, so i returned it and got the ATI card instead, the ATI card was $150 dollars cheaper and scored about 15% higher on 3dbenchmark01 and 05 with framerates an average of 25-100fps higher than the gforce card). I can run the game with zero lag except in areas with large number of people(qeynos harbor, zek docks) at balanced settings and in instances or low population zones i can run at the setting above that with no lag/choppiness. A 10000rpm raptor HD will increase zoning times as well(two of them using Raid0 is even better if you can afford it). Remember that proper cooling is your friend, otherwise running midgrade-highgrade gaming rigs you will run into heating problems that will severly lessen the lifespan of your hardware. Goodluck and enjoy your new gaming rig. |

![]() If you would like better assistant might want to try the tech area. People might not be answering as fast since they're basically looking for screens and movies. Just a tip. |

Well here is what i run with zero lag on extreme. I only lag in areas where there are a lot of people all casting at the same time etc. Dont ask me how my machine manages to perform this well as i have no idea. amd athlon64 4000+ @2.7 gefore 7800 gt ( oc cant give an exact speed cause im in linux atm) 2 gb corsair xms gigabyte g8n sli deluxe ( something like that can never remember) 1x ide 200 gb hardrive 7200rpm 8 mb cache 1 sata2 200 gb hd (this is my eq2 drive running the latest nvidia drivers Everything runs sweet your best bet would be to avoid the raedon cards unless you can afford a x1800 as the 7800gt easily blows the X850xt out of the water and you can always get a second one later and go sli. Just my 2 cents
