Though I understand that rangers did suffer a huge loss to DPS with the proc changes it seems to me like they are upset that they now have to work a little bit to keep there DPS up there. I can't count how many times I read on the ranger forums "I'm so sick of be stuck with possitional attacks to keep my DPS up" uhh....Almost all of our attacks are positional. Now, I haven't grouped with a good ranger since the patch came out and have no real numbers to back this up, But this DMG increase should be more than enough to bring them back up to our lvl if not pass us up, with there recast's being so much faster than ours and all.

No I'm not complaining that we are not getting the attention that we deserve and that rangers are being favored, just wondering everyone elses opinions on the ranger v. assassin DPS issue.

Rangers are a bunch of whiners. Yes, that was a flame. They whined even before changes went live, they didn't adapt or tried the new changes they jumped to the boards to whine like a bunch of [Removed for Content] they wanted to be Gods again.

We have been stuck since forever with positional attacks, CAs that were nerfed post Combat Update, huge recast timers amongst other things and the most we got was assassinate downed to a 15 minutes recast timer and our DoT from the mark line fixed. Go us.

What is my feeling on this? It's a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] slap on the face. It tells me that SOE favors some class over the other. Yes, I am whining and guess what? I earned the right to do so. I play my class, I don't cry every single freaking day to be made into the perfect class who can score dizillion of dps doing nothing but sitting back and hitting my CAs completely safe of aes. I play a class that can't solo heroic instances that weren't supposed to be soloed in the first place. I play a class that after the initial stab / ranged attacks relies entirely on my skills as a player for survival.

I have yet to parse a raid but according to a friend, their ranger was scoring 200-300 extra dps tonight on a PPR raid. Supposedly, a few times above from their assasssin and this comes from a raid without jousting.

Congratulations to the other branch of the predator archetype. You whined and you got what you wanted.

I couldn't help but laugh at this thread. I decided to do a search in the ranger forum for "positional attacks" and since you said you couldn't count the number of threads I expected to find a bazillion threads where people crying about being stuck with positional attacks.. I didn't find one. I sure hope you can at least count to one.And to the second guy who posted regarding the ranger whine.. after your first sentance your post was the epitome of whining.From the sounds of it neither of you have any friends that are rangers that you have raided with or parsed.... I heard it from a friend who...heard from a friend who..heard from another that you get the point.This is not a ranger vs. assasin issue. Don't make it one.

Of course I am whining. I am a paying customer just like any other ranger and I am not getting the same kind of attention. That is more than reason enough to [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] about it. My guild used to raid until t7 when it had a fallout, before that the two rangers on guild scored 1.4k-2k on raids and just so there won't be any mistakes many of those 1k+ scores where on single target epics.

If you want to go ahead and say rangers have been whining go ahead, just keep in mind the history of the ranger. And many of us have sent mail mails, many petitions, many parses on the subject.Before LU13, after 35ish any rouge ,zerker, monk, shadowknight, pally, (list goes on) could outdamage a ranger with little ease. When LU13 came out they dident really change that many abilities. The proc change came out, that was fine for the level 50 poisons out there. Pillars of flames came out, giving us adestee's. An extra 500-600 damage per attack, every attack, and one that jumped ontop of one another on our procs. So our damage was technicly unlimited. LU 20 came out, the abilitys are generally the same as LU13. And without being fixed from the start we are still having major problems, we are doing the same damage as the same level summoner's pet while we have everything adept 3'd and decent gear(talking about myself).LU 21 came out, they changed 3 ranged abilities to do "little" more damage, however what they did give rangers was a melee root, and the first ability to increase the critchance in game. Wich for 10 seconds we can stay t1 dps.I also plan on posting up a ranger/assassin (t6/t7ish) spell list up in the ranger fourms to to compare the two classes. I am just waiting for my assassin friend to give me the second half of the list.

Well the Rogue on the sidelines thinks it's quite clear from this thread who the whiners are.

Bah lol....why whine about another class geting upgraded?? Seriously, the auto atack upgrade for bows HELPS US also (just a tad though) We need our bow atacks to be made a lil less restrictive position wise and we are allright BTW if you establish a rythm with your jousting you can do nice(acceptable) dps, my complaint are too many SK mobs in game...their dmg shields tear us a new one SMILEY

Rangers will whine until they can go afk and still be top DPS on any raid encounter in the game, which is not far from the conditions Pre-Lu20. :smileyhappy:

i've parsed raids before and after the recent change to rangers. it was a large and well deserved upgrade but we are definately 2nd fiddle to them once again. before the change on fights where there was no jousting i would be tops easy, it would be close to even on a fight with minimal jousting and they were ahead were there was significant time spent at range.since the change if there's any jousting i have no chance of doing as much dmg and on non aoe fights it's a toss up. they got the upgrades they needed.
