![]() Ok I've gotten to lvl 66 now and all i use is summoned arrows and when they run out tin arrows bought from willow wood. I'm not raiding yet until I get lvl 70. What arrows should I be using that do not cost too much for regular grouping in SoS and for soloing. And once I get to the raiding scene, what arrows do i go to then. Thanks

![]() The quality of arrows only affects auto-range damage, so you are good using your summon and tin for now. When you start to raid, you'll do alot more auto-range damage, and then you'll want the T7 arrows available all the time. They cost almost 7g a stack so spam the heck out of your summon hot key. It'll save you a lot of money. I usually go through 2-3k arrows during a raid. Sometimes I break the 4K mark, but not very often. I am wondering why you are not raiding now though. At lvl 66, you can parse 600-1.1K against yellow mobs. That's still better than a lot of others. If I remember right, when you get to the orange mobs, your DPS will drop to below 400. If there is an open spot, you should get in the raid. At the very worst, you'll be learning the zone. Well, you tend to die a lot too, but as a ranger, you should be able to fight outside the AE range anyway.

![]() Well, as a 66 Ranger myself it all really just depends on what type of ranger you play. For instance I use my bow generally only for my CA's and then melee it up. If you use a significant amount of ranged auto attack you would see an improvement in your DPS by buying the more expensive arrows. However, if you are like me and generally use ranged CA's then tin arrows are fine. It seems that T7 vs. T1 arrows for raiding is an ongoing debate as to whether the upper tier arrows increase your DPS even for your CA's. But in my opinion the cheaper arrows are just fine when you run out of your summoned ones.

![]() I would love to raid now but it seems like on my server Blackburrow, all of the guilds want lvl 70. I really miss raiding. I quit in march when i was lvl 62 from being frustrated after the big nerf. I came back and started playing my ranger about 12 days ago and have gotten 4 lvls. The break was nice because I do not remember how much dps i had back then so it doesn't pain me as much.

Again, this is not a debate. If you group, it does not matter much becuase the mob dies before you are through all of your CAs. However, on raids, you will rely on auto-attack alot because there will be times when you have no CAs available. To sum, grouping = any arrow can be sufficient. Raid = MUST USE T7.

I will buy a few T7 arrows and try it out. BTW what is the name of the T7 arrow? Will the T7 arrow be beneficial for soloing or is it's value no truly seen there since you are mainly doing CA's

![]() Adamatine (or somethin like that), same as your T7 makeshift. I buy mine off one of the Gnomes at the crash site in Bonemire. I'm not sure if they are sold anywhere else. Edit: for soloing, just use the cheap stuff if you want. You hardly use any auto-range when soloing. But in the end, it's your choice. Message Edited by Gareorn on 08-25-2006 08:31 AM

Auto-attacks also go off between CAs and are a significant part of your overall damage.

What about legendary arrows made by WWs, would they be even better than the T7 adamantines? Just curious.

I have some cobalts and no, they do not do as much damage as adamtines. But they do come close. When I used them my DPS dropped by about 5% is all. I keep mine around just in case i run short.

Avoid player made arrows - they are useless.. I havent noticed a diff on my parses, and I am a woodworker myself.. If you find them going for less then 6s an arrow - then go ahead and grab as many as you can.. Otherwise, its not worth the cash when you can just buy adamantine off the vender.

Ok dumb question, but I wasn't even aware that adamantine arrows were available off the vendor! So far I've been lucky enough to rely on self-made arrows, but in the off chance that I need to buy, where can I get them? (PS I am a Qeynos citizen, so no FP locs pls)

![]() I'm only 57 now. I've used the player made indium from the broker and bought the indium for the NPC bowyer and the both seemed the same. I did buy the Indium bodkin arrows and they do seem to make a difference. The first time I used them it seemed to be able to hit with more regularity. I only bought 6 stacks. I was in a group and started to get frustrated because at one point I seemed to started having my arrows miss and do less. I could be wrong but I swear the bodkin arrows made a difference.
