Hi all could you explain the best type of Poison to use and where to get it also, how does the lvl ratings on the arrows really work? Should I buy arrows then what type are the best.

After all these changes I'm not doing the damage I once was even though I never bought poison ( Never thought I needed it ) and the only arrows I ever bought where Iron arrows till I could make my own.

Any other tips would be nice also, thanks!!!!

Quality of arrows only affect auto-attack damage. Your bow CAs disregard arrow quality. So if you are not doing much auto-attacking theyn you do not need to worry about arrows. If you use auto-attack you might want to buy tier approrpiate arrows. The general consensus on these boards is that Rangers do not do a lot of auto-attacking so therefor auto-attack damage makes up for a small % of our damage(1%-5%) so it is not worth paying the extra money for arrows.

Poisons have changed since KoS so I am not sure about them either. I stocked up on Adestes (i have an alchy friend. I got 14 vials for 14g) before KoS so have not needed to buy any. You used to be able to stack three poisons of different types - damage, debuff, and misc debuff (like stifle, stun etc). I am not sure now. Someone more familiar with poison now might want to way in on that.

As far as arrow ratings go...I think the only time that matters is if you're doing auto-attack damage.  It doesn't affect your ranged combat art damage.  All I use is the arrows I get from "makeshift arrows" and I have no problems at level 27.  I have used some crafter made arrows that were gifted to my by a guildie but didn't see much difference.

You can buy poisons off the broker or buy them from The Herb Jar in South Qeynos.  Personally I like to use (since the recent changes) a high direct damage poison and a high damage over time poison.

Before the nerf the best poison was the highest initial dd poison, adestes for t6...Now many believe that using the highest dot poison is better. Either way it doesn't make a big difference now since poisons don't proc much. I would simply make sure you do use some poison no matter the type.

As for arrows they are now a bigger part of our dps then previously. If you can afford it you should use the same arrow as your current tier. If you are tier 3, use carbonite, tier 6 use indium, etc...Most people can't afford to spend the insane amount of money to buy the higher quality arrows so if you are like many, simply buy iron and complement them with your summoned arrows as best as possible. Hopefully this is being changed soon.

On another note poisons still can be stacked. You can stack a damage poison, a debuff poison and a status poison (stun, stifle, slow, snare, etc)

Two things I have learned so far. either a DD or DoT (your choice really) and a stun or debuff poison (both player made). There is more but I don't know much yet. Also certain mobs are pierce resistant, If you know you will be going after them buy the crush or slash arrows. Most of the time the summoned arrows are good enough.
