Since LU18... Poisons consumed certain abilities?

Has anyone here noticed this?

When you use an ability like Sniper Shot that deals a poison based damage do you notice your poison potion is suddenly consumed as though all the damage that your ability just did was counted against your poison potion's limit? I'm not referring to poisons now properly being counted - that's fine - I'm asking if you've seen situations where you use your poison, do a big poison based ability like Sniper Shot that does about 6k poison damage and then notice your poison you just put on your blades has poofed from your buffs list and has been consumed.

I'm an Assassin and I think I'm seeing my poisons consumed extremely quickly right about when my Apply Poison buff triggers on a groupmate but I'm not certain because it's a gradual increase in poison use during battle. If I'm right about what's happening, you rangers would see it more dramatically than an assassin would and there's a ranger in my guild who thinks he's seeing it as well. I don't think they mean for poison potions to be consumed in this way, I think they should only be consumed by actual poison potion effect proccing.

Ahh. Guildie has set me straight - it's a melee based damage on Sniper's Shot (Hey, i'm an Assassin what do I know? :smileytongue: ) but he does confirm that he uses his poison, does one Sniper's Shot and the poison is poofed. I suspect that I must have a similar issue with one of my less dramatic abilities as mine is poofing pretty fast too sometimes.

Yeah kinda sucks...I just spent 15g on one poison and I consumed it in 7 heroic battles. I like to open with sniping shot and I noticed the poof, after I used the 7th charge SMILEY

I was expecting a decrease in poison usage since it no longer procs off the secondary hand, but have noticed an increase instead. This would explain the problem. I'll have to monitor it to see if that's whats happening to me. I'll just put away my affected CA(s) until it's fixed if this is the case. Thank you for the heads up.

You know, i thought it was my imagination. Yeah, it does seem to be going away alot faster. I wasnt expecing a change much at all since i dont melee enough to really see a difference. But its definetely getting used up quicker somehow.

I've noticed poisons poofing but was unable to see why or what was triggering it. I will do a round of tests tonight and see if a certain CA is taking it off.

Odd problem. I personally havent had any issues, and I watch and monitor the number of procs I am getting. I am always weary of the nerf bat....I like to stay on top of it in case I go to do something and it works differently than last time I did it.

No issues here though......yet.

I've used T3, T4 and T5 normal and legendary poisons the past couple days and not seeing it suddenly all poof when I use any particular ability (but I'm an Assassin not a Ranger). My T6 poison will be tested tonight.

Anyone here tried Snipershot (or is it Sniper's Shot?) ability to see if you're seeing the same issue my guildie is?

This problem JUST started happening to me, or I just started noticing. Using Tier 4 purple poison (forgot the name of it), and I went through 2 charges in 40 minutes. This was hunting a couple giants in TS for giant idols, no really long fights. Lots of procs but still unusally disappearing faster than before the last LU. I'll watch it closer next time to see if I can keep up with my proc count.

I noticed my lvl 40 poision debuff dropping way to fast. I traced it down to my back attack arrow shot. Apply the poison ( I think the debuffs are 70-80 procs) Did one fight , one or 2 procs. Then I opened a fight with culling the herd, and the debuff poision dropped after that attack went off. Tested it again and did the same thing. (could be other attacks that do this as well but only verified with culling the herd) Then bugged it. Drevva

Bingo! All that testing I did, I did in Lavastorm / Everfrost where I don't step back and use bows because I'm primarily a backstabbin' Assassin not a bowing ranger and didn't want to attract adds from behind. Didn't really see the issue. Last night I went back to using arrows in Sinking Sands because I've only recently got a proccing bow and there was the poison issue again. I think I just didn't know it was an issue before because I'm not a Ranger and haven't used my bow much until recently.

Looks to me like this might be an issue with ranged poison.

I have been using the T3 high DD low DoT, and stun poison w/ 15% proc. But if I use my ranged attack I notice that every hit w/ the bow the mob stops for a sec or two like the poison is proc'ing 100% of the time and runs out after a couple of fights (although I seem to kick major [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] w/ it). The DD/DoT seems to last an hour or two though, and appears to proc as advertised.

You know, I was wondering the same thing and now that I see other people are having problems or noticing an issue I don't feel so bad. I was thinking that I was going through a lot of poison and mine costs quite a deal at 57 (Ranger). I mostly only use Bow CAs and occassionally melle usually just to up my skills in case I need them. The poisons seem to be going pretty dern fast. Hopefully this will be looked into soon and if there is a problem that it's fixed.

Same here, did fire and ice all the way through, went to see Naggy, and all told I used 5 charges of my T6 DD poison. Rediculous. Didnt notice in particular when they dropped, was busy, but asked another ranger i was with and he said about the same usage.

I used T6 poison tonight in SS and worked a lot more with bows. The Kyri's Hateborn Toxin lasted the evening and procced loads - no short poison there.

Maybe it's certain ones or just certain abilities?

I have started seeing this too. I recently moved from a T3 legendary poison to a T4 legendary poison and have noticed that I often have to re-apply long before 12 hours has gone by and definately before I've gotten my 200 procs. (At least it seems to be less than 200!) Glad to see it isn't just me but sorry that it's happening at all... Could it be that we have all been getting more than our advertised number of procs per dose and they just did a stealth "fix" to the math?

I haven't had any problems along these lines myself, but I'm concerned. It would help if people can post the names (or better- screenshots) of which poisons they're using, as well as log data. (If you've got the will for it, count the procs from your logs. If not, maybe post the apply time and the run-out time.) One thing that you need to watch out for: Not all damage poisons are supposed to last for 200 procs. The "Extream damage" line (Torment of Rijacki, Bubbling Blood, etc.) are only supposed to give you 4 procs. If the proc rate isn't 25%, don't count on more than a couple procs.

OK, it seems to only happen with my t6 stuff, I have 3 vials of t5 and 2 vials of t6, and the t6 just wear off really fast. The t5 stay for their duration. Are there more than one t6 dd poison?

I mean, I feel like a noob asking this lol, but I use a t6 poison thats icon is the smaller vial with the trailing skull going up from it. While my t5 poison is just the plain glass vial filled with some color. Am I using the wrong type of t6 and its supposed to be wearing off this fast or is it just a different icon for t6 stuff.

There wasnt much cost difference is why I ask, just figured something that hit 3 times as hard that costs the same amount and procs the same % would be a little more expensive, but I wont complain about things being cheap lol
