OK, im unsure as to which to go for when I am adventuring.  I have Hunter's Instinct at master II which helps alot, and stacks with both, and if I have Survival Instincts on with it, i have just over 50% avodiance.  But if i have Blade Fury on I dont notice any more damage and my avoidance is down to 28-29% avoidance.  Which would be better to have in a group?  Soloing?

Thanks.

Keep survival up when soloing. You just take too much damage in the 20s before putting out enough to take a mob down if you use the offensive stance. It's okay to use blade in groups, though. You aren't taking the hits (hopefully) so you can afford a little less protection for more DPS.

I dunno...  I'm currently a 24 ranger, and I've found that soloing mobs was faster and easier with Blade Flurry up.  Keep in mind, I'm talking about blue down^ mobs...  Open with a couple ranged attacks, Cheap Shot - Stalk - Shadow Lunge - Shrouding attack (can't remember the name offhand SMILEY) - Shadowflame...  If they're not dead then, they will be after a Pierce. Without Blade Flurry up, I actually end up having to face a hit!  :0

I'm using Blade Flurry as well, and blues are very much dead before they reach me (at 24), assuming the poison procced about 2 times (using "inpenetrable barrier" the level 20 rare max-DD poison)If not, they are after a few hits usually, while they stand in the stun, so I'm not really getting hit alot.I very rarely have to use Shadow Lunge.Even whites die quite often before they reach me. And I killed a few Level 27s today for a quest (1 and 2 arrow down though), of course was harder, but they did perhaps 10-20% damage to me, all with Blade Flurry up.I usually use Survival Instincts if I managed to pull aggro in a group while fighting tough monsters (takes about 2 seconds to switch stance), or if i fear it will happen. Or i'm up against some tough enemy, and rather be able to stand longer

It's all situational.  I'd say use Blade Flurry most of the time unless you are fighting harder mobs that hit for more.  Watch your HPs and if it is going down quickly then cast Survival Instincts in the middle of the fight and switch stances.  I think the cast time is only like a second so it's no big deal. In groups keep Blade Flurry up unless you keep pulling aggro often.  Then you might want to think about usind Survival and downing your DPS a little bit if the tank isn't holding aggro well.  Once you get Arrow Flurry you'll see how nice our offensive stance is.  I often kill yellows before they reach me with my quick shot and poisons procing.
