Well I guess I got your attention with the subject header.  Sony looks for feedback and suggestions through these posts, well if so many people are moaning and groaning about this and that on quivers,  I think it would be awesome if they had some sort of Ranger only type of heritage quest and the end result was an Endless Quiver.  Of coarse it would have to be a level 60 quest, otherwise all the makeshift arrow abilities would be useless.  Just some food for thought. If anything like this was implemented, there is no way it would be ranger only.  Can't you imagine all the assassin gripes now?  For that matter all scouts and warrior classes would cry nerf.

As an Assassin player, I can say that I'd be seriously disappointed.  I know I dont use as many bow attacks as you all, but I still use TONS of arrows in groups and solo alike.  And endless quiver would be a real nice item for any bow using class, especially the scouts.

If there was gonna be a ranger HQ, there would have to be one for every class, and if there was, you wouldnt want some quiver as your reward

I disagree with the poster that all the assassins and warriors would cry nerf (well I'm sure some would still but whatever) if the *only* arrows it would let you fire were Makeshift Arrows of an appropriate tier. 1) We get those for free anyway. 2) If a new tier were added then it would (like other heritage EQ) become a nice peice for your wall and the arrows it made would eventually grey out. Basically if it only allowed makeshift all this would do is remove a bit of pointless button pressing every 10 minutes. *shrug* If it show regular arrows though, I agree, that would be unfair to other classes that use arrows.

And if there was a quest for a quiver HQ why would it have to be for every class? I've got... wow at least 3, probably more, HQ items that I *cannot ever* use. Just because it's an HQ does not mean every class has to be able to use it.

Right, no one expects to use every single HQ item with one class, but this would have to be available to any class that could use a bow. You don't see the Screaming Mace with a "Priest Only" tag on it, even tho it's primarily intended as a healer weapon. I wouldn't want any ranger-only HQ anyway, we really don't want that kind of bad press.

i recall reading some Q and A about EQ2 rangers before EQ2 was released and the one question that was asked was Is there going to be endless quiver in EQ2. the responce was NO. there will not be endless quiver in EQ2 because they wanted the option of making more powerful arrows but have them be a rare item. having endless quiver like in EQ1 would make the powerful arrows trivial.

The Endless Quiver in EQ1 would duplicate any arrow put in it. I would settle for and endless quiver on T1 tin arrows.

Well if the endless quiver only created makeshift arrows then there still would be a point to the more powerful arrows and they would still be rare. On an aside I really wish that they would add some clear descriptions to the arrows ingame that stated what they did. I know the diff between the slashing, piercing, and crushing arrows but adding something that allows you to see the difference between makeshift fulginate, fulginate, and ebon arrows for instance would be helpful.

It was my understanding that the Endless Quiver was always a bug.  It was meant to be the standard arrow and not the one you equipped.  More damage meant player crafted.  That was the price you paid for unlimited ammo.  It really wasn't an issue until everybody was running around with EP bows doing old content and at that point it was too late.  I always viewed it as a bone Sony threw.  It was always clear to me they wanted me to be a fiighter class with range options and not a range class with fighter options.  They even said that with some of the GoD tweaks.  I always liked the class but it seemed at any given time some group of newbies people were yelling "we suck".

Anyway, my rambling aside.  It surprised me that there was the makeshift line here which is "sort of kind of" Endless after what they said pre-release.  I don't ever see an Endless option.

Well, it's not a bad idea to have an endless quiver, but as it is now I have 2 quivers, one for pierce and one for slash, so as it would be. I would want, Neh, would have to have 2 endless quivers. otherwise it's too much fumbling around in my inventory to switch out thew right kind of ammo. As in raids it's alot of switchign back and forth for long instances where the mob types are switched up alot. So perhaps I could have endless quiver with one type of arrow than a normal quiver for another type. What I would really want if they had endless quiver is a cool mythical arrow with a cool proc. Just so I have that added chance to die more by pulling aggro lol.

Well, while i wouldnt mind... no.

Just fix the poisons vanishing when we die... (i suck, i die alot...) and i'll be happy
I think the X slot quiver we got is far better than i ever could imagined they actually would put in this game for us.

So, i think its more than enough.

I can't wait til they fix the poisons bug. It's a nasty conundrum - you've got a tough fight coming up, you want to maximize your damage, but you might die or the group could wipe and you'll lose that Adeste's application before you even get a chance to use it. BAH!
