I am just curious about which tradeskill would be smart to take up if you're going to go down the Ranger path. At first glance I almost automatically would say the Craftsman/Wood/Fletching line of tradeskill - but is that right? Is there something else a ranger would recieve more benefit from?

Any info on this matter would be much appreciated, thanks!

I'm going scholar/alchemist cause of the poisons. However as it stands they are not all that great due to the cost of making compared to vendors and the fact that there is no description for them (hopefully this will be looked into soon).Woodworking is a good trade for the bows, arrows and such.Weaponsmith would also be good for daggers, swords, etc. There are a few good choices to keep yourself equipped so its up to you on what you want to make.

Yeah, I was going the poisons route too on the assumption that these aren't really used much at the moment and most people would be concentrating on other traits such as woodworking. My hope was that some time in the future they would address this with cool extra potions which everybody would then want. However by then there would only be a few people capable of making them as everyone else had gone down a different path and I would make a fortune. mahwhahahaha SMILEYAlthough it looks like there are other people who think as deviously as me SMILEY

I really dont know which to pick up, but I still have some time to decide. I first need to figure out how to play this class character effectively (bows, dual or not, etc), then I will start worrying about tradeskills. I will try to keep my gathering skills up to date though. Thanks for the input guys!

Easy.. as Ranger... go woodworking.. you can make your own arrows, no need to depend on someone else. voila.while rangers have the makeshift arrow thing, the arrows are average at best.. go woodworking.. make a fortune.

I'm going Alchemist for two reasons...

A) I can make my own poisons...they aren't really expensive to make, usually gotta make a vial, an oil, buy a component and throw it in a pot.

B) Alchemists = the backbone of crafting.  Pretty much EVERY advanced item made after 20 requires 1-2 sub-components from an Alchemist.  If I do have to rely on someone, I can just [Removed for Content] out sub-components heh
